I sit on my bed, my eyes glued to the ceiling as my mind goes back to what Luca’s father, Giovanni said to me. ‘I see my son hasn’t trained you like the others…’. The words play over and over again in my head. Others? So, I wasn’t the first woman that Luca had bought at an auction. And if I wasn’t the first then what happened to the women before me? Did he get tired of them and kill them, or did he let them go?
I shake my head. No, that isn’t possible. Luca doesn’t strike me as a man to let any of his toys wander off without his say so. But if he actually killed them, then what did the future hold for me?
