Chapter 10

Travis

I entered the hotel where we were going to meet Mr. Ace Miller for the lunch meeting.

Both of us were not best of friends but we didn’t have anything against each other. More like we were business friends.

We decided to join hands for a project which will be beneficial for both of the companies.

My grandma Melissa Wilson is with me. She and my grandpa was the person who established this Wilson Enterprise.

She was the president of the company until 8 years ago when she handed over the position and authority to me when I turned 21 years old. Now I am the CEO but still she has her hand in decision making for the company.

I love her so much. She is the only person who I love with all of my heart. Because she was always there for me whenever I needed someone in my life.

Even my parents couldn’t give me the love and support that my grandma has given to me.

My parents got divorced when I was 13 years old because they could not give each other the time that they should have given. In fact they didn’t even had time for their only son.

After their divorce my grandma took me in. She took care of me as a parent. My grandpa passed away when I was 10.

Grandma still misses him and loves him as always. She didn’t give the business to any of my parents and handed it over to me. And that is why I respect my work because I know how hard they have worked for it.

On that day when my grandma lost her things and she was stuck away from home, I blame myself for it. She wanted me to take her there but I was so caught up in my work that I didn’t go with her and she has to go through all those sh*t.

When I reached there that day my grandma was sitting near the bus stop she told me about on phone call.

I was worried sick because it was really cold on that day and she told me she didn’t have anything with her not even her coat. But when I saw her she was sitting there wearing a coat that was not of much help in my opinion but it was better than nothing.

I wondered where did she get it from. She smiled at me when she saw me coming towards her.

While driving back home she told me everything about what happened with her throughout the day. And whenever she mentioned this girl naming Iris, there was this different kind of smile on her lips and a different shine in her eyes.

Well, I was grateful towards her as well because she helped my grandma. I was a little shocked when my grandma told me how this Iris girl helped her.

It’s not everyday when you see someone helping a stranger with everything that they have as she gave her coat to my grandma in that cold weather. So I wanted to meet her once and thank her properly.

But my grandma is going on and on about this Iris girl saying she is the most beautiful woman she has ever seen in this world. And I think it’s a bit too much.

I have been player for most Of my life. I have been with many women in this world and most of them were top class models. And my grandma says she is more beautiful than all of those.

It seems over the top for her to say that. Because my current girlfriend has been chosen as most beautiful woman of the country by one of the biggest fashion magazine.

Yes I do have girlfriend but it doesn’t mean I don’t sleep around. I still do and she knows it. Because I have told her that I will never change my ways for anyone. Not even for my future wife. If any woman wants to be with me then she should be able to handle my playboy title as well.

As soon as we entered my grandma called out, “Iris”. And I looked in the direction where she was looking. And when I saw a woman coming towards us, my eyes widened.

I was stunned. She really was one of the most beautiful woman I have ever seen and she is a natural beauty. Not like the women I have been with in past. Who would go around painting there face with make up.

I am not saying it’s wrong because it’s up to them how they want to look or style in front of others. But this woman in front of me was something else.

When she was talking to my grandma I couldn’t take my eyes off of her. Her voice was sounding like the most beautiful melody to my ears. I was unable to take my eyes off of her. I just wanted to kiss her right there and then, forgetting about everything around me.

When we were eating I was continuously staring at her with all the evil thoughts in my mind. And I found Ace looking at me with the eyes which were telling me he will stand up any moment and will start beating me up.

‘Is she his girlfriend.’ I thought. But I know he is a player himself but the emotions in his eyes right now were somewhat serious, like he knew what I was thinking about. I ignored him and focused on Iris. Yes I was thinking about how I am going to take her to my bed.

After saying our goodbyes Ace and Iris started walking away when I said, “ Let’s go for a dinner, Iris.” I don’t request anyone that is why it came out as an order and I cursed myself in my head.

Because everyone was looking at me like, ‘what’s wrong with you' look. Ace was furious and he was about to say something when Iris asked, “ is it because I helped your grandma.”

I was dumbfounded for a second because this is not why I asked her that but still nodded my head. And she replied while smiling, “it’s okay but thank you for asking”.

And if you would ask me if smile could kill anyone so I would say yes because that smile of her was enough to kill so many.

As soon as they left my grandma asked, “ so what do you say now. Isn’t she one of the most beautiful woman”. I smiled and said, “ Yeah, she is one hell of a beauty.”

Author’s POV

It’s been one month since Iris started working with Ace as his secretary. It’s been going smoothly. She was liking her job. She misses her family but she is enjoying her stay here.

She has become friends with many of the people here because of her kind nature but still keeps her guards up around others.

On the other hand Ace is going crazy with the happiness. His feelings for Iris are growing more and more everyday. He likes her company. Because of her now he eats 3 meals a day.

Before he used to eat only one meal a day in the evening mostly with Mike and Riya. But now he eats breakfast and lunch with her so that he can spend some time with her when they are not working.

She still keeps her distance from him. But he doesn’t mind it as long as he gets to be with her.

They both were becoming like friends while working together. They would joke a little but Iris was still not as humorous as before.

They both did not talk anymore about what happened between them in their first two meetings. Ace wanted to tell her how he feels for her but he was hesitating because he didn’t want to scare her away and ruin their friendship.

Iris was successful in hiding her pain from everyone and her feelings from Ace. She didn’t show him how he was affecting her.

Today they held a small party to celebrate the occasion of signing the contract between M&A industries and Wilson Enterprise.

Iris was already at the venue with Kathryn her good friend and colleague in accounts department. They have become good friends.

Kathryn is nice and beautiful woman. She has blonde shoulder length hair and beautiful brown eyes.

Both of them were in charge of all the preparation and now they were done with the work. People started arriving to the venue.

They went to food counter just to check everything one last time. They were shocked that party didn’t have bar counter.

Ace strictly prohibited alcohol in the party. Iris thought if he did it for her but then shook off the thought from her mind thinking, you are being delusional Iris.

Ace came after sometime with Mike.

Both of them are going to sign the contract as co-owners with Travis.

When his eyes fell on Iris his heart skipped so many beats and Mike laughed at his expressions saying, “you look like some lovesick puppy”.

Ace glared at him once but a smile broke onto his lips when he imagined his own face.

They walked to Iris who was standing near food counter in her red dress which was reaching the ground.

It was not revealing at all but she still managed to looked sexy with her hairs tied in loose bun and few strands falling on her face. Kat went to bathroom at that moment so she was alone.

Iris greeted them with smile. Riya reached there and she hugged Iris tightly. They have become good friends. Mike is also friendly with Iris.

Riya said, “You are gorgeous woman. Looks like someone can’t take off his eyes from you.” and winked. And Ace quickly turned his face away while clearing his throat.

Ace, Mike and Travis signed the contract. Riya, Iris and Kathryn were sitting together talking about girls stuff.

Travis came to them, his eyes stuck on Iris and he was staring at her with those evil intentions in his mind.

Travis was also looking handsome as hell. He was 6’3 tall man who had breathtakingly beautiful gray eyes just like her grandma but a shade darker. He was wearing black tux with white shirt without tie leaving few button of his shirt open.

All the girls in the party were drooling over the 3 most handsome men in the party including Him, Ace and Mike.

Iris and other two ladies greeted him and he nodded his head and took a step closer to Iris his eyes never leaving her face.

“You look sexy” he said with smirk on his face and making all three of them surprised. “Would you like to have a dance with me?” he asked.

Ace’s eyes fell on them and his body started shaking with anger. He did not know what they were talking about but as a mam himself he knew what Travis wanted from Iris. Mike told him to calm down and they started moving towards them.

Iris denied saying, “I am sorry I am not too fond of dancing and as for your compliment, Thank you.”

Travis smiled saying, “So you would directly like to go to my room in this hotel, huh?” At that moment Ace reached there and he glared at Travis and said with greeted teeth, “Try to be a little respectful, Travis. She is not like the women you sleep around with.”

Travis laughed, “we both sleep around with girls, Ace. And why are you getting angry I just told her what I wanted from her.” He said while looking at Iris again.

Before Ace could reply Iris took a step closer to Travis, looking him straight in his eyes, “No, I won’t like to do anything with you. And if it weren’t a business meeting and you would have asked the same question outside of the work place, I would have slapped you hard. But I can’t do it right now because you are my boss at this moment.”

“But I would appreciate it if you are a little respectful next time we meet, Mr. Wilson as we have to work together for a long time. Please enjoy the party.” She said and left the place with Riya and Kath following her behind, leaving Travis stunned for a minute but suddenly a smile appeared on his face when he remembered what his grandma said about her.

She told him that Iris is not the kind of girl who runs after money and sleeps around with people.

Ace glared at him again and Travis smiled at him saying, “ Don’t worry man I am not going to do anything to her. I just tried my luck.”

Ace replied, “You better not try something like this again.” And Travis nodded. They were good friends and didn’t wanted to ruin their friendship over this matter.

After that everything went smoothly. Mike took Riya and Kat to their home because both of the ladies lived in same direction.

Ace dropped Iris off at her apartment. They got off the car, he wanted to kiss her but stopped himself from doing anything reckless.

She thanked him and turned on her heals to go inside. He stood there seeing her retreating back hoping she would turn around and she did, waving her hand she smiled.

He grinned like a school kid who got the attention of his crush. He waved back at her.

Once she was inside he got in his car and started driving in direction of his house while grinning throughout the ride.
