“…he is not looking good” Mike said.
Tears started forming into my eyes. With as much as courage I could gather I asked, “What happened to him?”
But my voice betrayed me and a sob escaped from my lips.
“Hey Iris, don’t cry. I was joking.”
After hearing that I felt like I could breath now. Anger started to rise inside me as I spoke, “What?” But it was difficult to hold my tears back.
Then came his comforting voice from other side, “Hey Iris, I am okay. They were just teasing you.” He was worried I could feel it in his voice.
“Why are you not here yet? Why couldn’t I reach you? you didn’t even inform me that you will be late.” I complained.
