Getting over her

1131 Words
Nicholas POV "I love you," Angelica finally confessed her feelings to me. it was that bright day when the sun was shining brightly, the weather was fine and the cool breeze soothed the soul. That day, I had planned to tell her that I was crushing on her and that I liked her but I never expected that she'll come onto me first. "I love you," I told her and leaned in to kiss her. That day, we sealed our love under the tree in the city park. "Why do you bring me here?" she asked me and bought me back from my thought. "I asked that you escort me around not bring me to a place that probably holds our memory!" she shouted at me. I had requested to speak to her for a moment. After what happened between us in her room, she avoided me for a moment but after staying away from her for a few moments, I could barely think straight so I requested her attention. Luckily for me, Alaric had been away for that day and I had no business to attend to yet. "why do you bring me here?" she asked. I ignored her ranting and pointed to the tree between us. it had an inscription of our names written as 'Nick and Angel'. "you are right Angelica," I grabbed her hand. "I bought you here because I thought that you'll remember our past and come to your sense that you'll be making a terrible decision if you decided to marry Alaric!" she furrowed her brows at me and frowned at me. "what the hell is your problem!" she demanded to know. "my problem?" I chuckled and tightened my grip on her wrist. "pulling her closer to me, " I lowered my head and whispered into her ears. "my problem is that I can stay away from you for so long," I confessed and I saw her shiver under my touch. "Did you intoxicate me because I can't stop thinking about you and the time that we spent together? I need to know why I am acting this way toward you," I let go of her and leaned close to her until our chest was touching. "I can't...." "Enough!" she raised her hand on me and slapped me hard across the face. "I already told you respectfully prince Nicholas that I am not interested in your little charade but you wouldn't listen to me!" she shouted at me. "please leave me be as I continue this with you any longer!" she warned me and walked away. I grabbed her hand and pulled her back to speak to her but when I saw the tears in her eyes, I let go of her and she walked out of my sight. "Have I gone crazy!" I grabbed a handful of my hair and heaved a deep sigh. "why I'm I so drawn to her!" I punched my stomach and groaned in pain. "I need to put an end to this," I walked toward the car garage while ignoring the greetings of the guards positioned around the Royal mansion. Entering my silver Bugatti Chiron gifted as a birthday gift by my mother. I started the car and ignored the guards that offered to guard me. I was in no mood for that. I drove out of the car garage and headed out of the Royal mansion. while I was on the street, I noticed an SUV van following after me, and I frowned realizing that a few Royal guards were trailing after me. "I want to be on my own," I hit my hands on the steering wheel and increased my speed until they couldn't keep up. once I had loose sight of them, I took a right turn at the end of the road and drove to a bar. I made sure my head was lowered in case a paparazzi was snooping around. I refused to be I. the cover page with a bad headline. my father would be so disappointed in me even though I was not his perfect son, he still sees me as the sane one. The bouncers at the entrance bowed their heads when they saw me. They all recognized me as the prince and let me in without arguing. one even offered to escort me into the club but I turned him down and walked to the bar. "your highness," Sam, the barista smiled when he saw me. "it's sudden to see you this late afternoon your highness," he said. "you always to make sure to keep your business at night. may I ask the drink you want?" "Two shots of tequila please," I requested and tapped my hand on the table waiting patiently for my drink. I suddenly had a flashback of when I was at the bar after founding out that Angelica and Alaric were dating behind my back. I had come to the bar and drank with a certain girl. I scrunched my face when I tried to remember her. "I..." I closed my eyes trying so hard to remember her face but I couldn't as my memory suddenly became foggy and each time I was close to seeing her face, it suddenly becomes dim and everything would go black. "Are you alright your highness?" Sam asked. I fluttered my eyes open and stared at the shots on the table. "Do you remember me speaking to any girl the last time that I was here Sam?" I asked him and gulped the first shot. I clicked my tongue and took the second shot in one gulp. "so do you know who she is?" I asked him. "no, your highness. I was not on duty that day," Sam answered. "Then who was?" "Michael. He works the weekend shifts," He answered. I folded my arms and heaved a sigh. why the hell was I thinking about a girl I had a one-night stand with? I couldn't understand why but coming back to the bar bought back the memory. "whosoever loses get to kiss the other person," her words resounded in my head. Her laughter sounded in my ears and somehow it bears resemblance to when Angelica had laughed the first time she met my mother. "Damn," I rubbed my head. "Now I am thinking about her again," I groaned and beckoned to Sam for another drink. "Give me three more shots," in order him. "why are you trying to get drunk, your highness?" Sam asked and shook the bottle in his hand. "is there going on with you?" He asked. "It's just for a while. I hope the drinks would stop how I have been acting like a puppy," I told him even though he wouldn't understand what I had said.
