Jade POV

I heaved a deep sigh and paced around my room. I watched as the fireworks were shining brightly in the sky and it was pretty sad to know that I wasn’t there.

Everything that I had planned with Nicholas and Raymond had all gone to waste. ‘’what is happening now?’’ I questioned myself and rubbed my stomach. ‘’Angelica should be returning by now,’’ I looked at the door and wondered what was taking too long for her to come back.

‘’why the hell is she wasting time?’’ I rubbed my stomach and couldn’t understand what was happening and why she was taking too long to come back. ‘’I just really hope that she is not being discovered by the royal family. ‘’ just the thought of that was enough to make my heart race so fast and my hands were shaking terribly.

‘’you!’’ the door suddenly burst open and angelica walked into the room accompanied by Donna.

‘’Angeli….’’ she shut me up with a slap on my face. I tasted blood on my lips and spat it out. ‘’what the hell did you do that for huh?’’ I asked her and she responded with another slap on my face. ‘’Angelica!’’ I shouted her name.

‘’Everything that is happening is all your fault,’’ she accused blindly and grabbed my neck. ‘’If you had not ruined things with me then maybe this wouldn’t have happened.’’

‘’My lady,’’ Donna whispered. ‘’you need to leave here right now.’’ she sounded as if she was in trouble. Her voice was not loud but it hinted at danger and it shows that something had happened.

Something terrible had happened and it had to do with Angelica. what has she done this time? I thought.

I slapped her hand away from my neck and grabbed her neck. ‘’what the hell did you do?’’

‘’it's your fault,’’ she accused me of something that I have no idea of. ‘’none of this would have happened if you had not tried to act differently around Nicholas.’’

‘’My lady, we have to hide you now,’’ Donna also grabbed her hand but I didn’t let go. I held onto her hand tightly to get answers from her. I needed to know what she was saying and why she was accusing me.

‘’what the hell are you accusing me of!’’ I demanded from her. ‘’you just don’t accuse people of what they didn’t do. You went to the party and did things that I didn’t know about and now, you are accusing me.’’

Angelica laughed and tried to yank my hand from hers but I held onto it and pulled closer to me. ‘’let go you useless peasant!’’ she yelled and raised her hand hitting my stomach in the progress. I whimpered and held my stomach.

‘’you are the one who is going to take the blame for it,’’ she chuckled. ‘’ After all, you are my substitute,’’ she grinned at me and walked away from my front heading into the bathroom with Donna.

‘’wai…’’ I moaned in pain and held my stomach. The pain lasted for a few seconds and just as I was recovering from it, the door burst open and two guards walked into the room. ‘’what is happening?’’ I asked.

‘’your heart desires have been granted,’’ A menacing voice sounded behind him as Raymond walked in between the guards and stand in front of me. His stern look confirmed that he wasn’t there to talk with me but for something else.

Something much worse than I expected.

‘’what is happening?’’ I asked him.

‘’Guards, arrest her!’’ Raymond ordered and the guards responded by grabbing my hands.

‘’why are you doing this?’’ I asked him and struggled against the guards. I tried to wriggle my hands-free from my hands from theirs but it was futile. They held me like a criminal and could easily pull my arms off if I continued to struggle against them.

‘’Are you insane?’’ Raymond laughed. ‘’have you gone insane!’’ he moved closer to me and raised his hand to strike me. I closed my eyes waiting to be hit in the face but it never came. ‘’if you are pretending not to know what happened tonight then you must be insane and I am going to make sure you regret it!’’

‘’regret what?’’ I demanded to know from him. I had no idea what he meant by that except if Angelica had done something awful. ‘’what is happening!’’

‘’Take her away!’’ Raymond ordered them and they started dragging my hands pulling me out of the room.

‘’wait!’’ I shouted and turned my head to face Raymond who was walking behind us. ‘’listen to me please,’’ I kicked my legs on the ground trying so hard to stop them from dragging me but they didn’t let go of me and continued dragging me like a rag doll.

‘’At least, tell me what I had done wrong!’’ I screamed.

The guards ignored my continuous screams until we reached a place on the left side of the mansion. The coldness of the place bites into my skin as I was dragged down a dark hallway. I could barely see a thing but say no words but whimpered in pain.

We reached the end of the hallway and there was a light at the end of it. We entered another room and I looked around noticing a door made of metal. Before I could comprehend what was happening, I was pushed into the cell and it was shut in my face. Luckily for me, the doors were transparent and I could see and hear what was happening outside.

Raymond gave orders for the guards to leave while he remained inside the room and looked at me. ‘’I am going to make sure that you are dethroned and sent away from here. Maybe you’ll stop bringing shame to the royal family.’’

Accusations here and there and yet, I had no idea of what was happening around me. What did angelica do so bad for her to be sent to a place like that?
