Nicholas POV
I hated the fact that everyone that I trusted was lying in my face and I hated that I couldn't figure out why. as angelica clung to me for the dance, I realized the connection we both shared was gone. she was the real angelica but I felt nothing for her and all I had in mind for her was just pure hatred which bought me to the question of who the woman who was pretending to be her could be.
''you looked stiff!'' angelica commented. ''are you enjoying yourself tonight?'' she asked me and I nodded in response because I was not in the mood to speak to her. she had given me every right to hate her at that moment.
how dare she lied and used somebody else for the dirty game. it was tiring and screams obsession. whosoever was acting as her substitute did a perfect job because it was hard to ignore how they seemed similar. it was annoying how no one could differentiate from them.
''why won't you talk to me?'' she asked and clung tighter to my arms. ''Did I do something wrong?' she asked the obvious question. if she was not blind to seeing my frown face then maybe she would understand that I didn't want to see her lying face.
