Chapter 11Bonnie looked up, surprised to see a flock of ragged clouds scudding by overhead. They were really flying, as fast as she’d ever seen clouds move. She glanced southward, toward the mouth of the gulf, still many miles away. In the distance, a gray wall of clouds loomed, blending with the choppy water. The wind had begun to rise as well, no longer the gentle breeze they’d enjoyed for two days. The breeze had been just enough to take the edge off the June heat, but this gale held a damp chill that almost made her shiver. Even the sun had begun to show a hazy, dimmed face.
