Nyra

"Nyra! You coming or not? They are going to exhaust the memory of my band if you don’t come fast" Autumn calls out from the lounge.

"Coming. Just two more minutes." I say as I pull my straight black hair into a loose ponytail. I look myself in the mirror and see that I am genuinely smiling and I am unable to wipe the smile off of my face. I don’t remember the last time I smiled so much and felt happy.

And well, dancing helped too. I never realized how therapeutic dancing could be. We danced song after song till we all fell down on each other laughing. It was awesome. I also got to know that this was their thing. They would dance everything out whenever anyone one of them felt too stressed out or overwhelmed. This was an awesome idea and I was on board with it as soon as I heard it.

After dancing our hearts out, we decided to get up and go out and buy me some things that I would need. This list included a phone as well. So here I am getting ready for our trip. Autumn lent me her black coloured crop top that shows off only a sliver of my stomach and I paired it with one of her blue ripped jeans. I wear black converse shoes with it. The clothes are comfortable and trendy, just how I like. I take a last look in the mirror to see everything was in place and then exit my room to find Rhiannon and Teagan posing for pictures and Autumn clicking them.

Rhiannon is petite yet tall. She looks like a New York model with her perfect strawberry blonde hair, high cheekbones, and forest green eyes. She is wearing a light blue coloured oversized sweater that is styled with a short black leather skirt which shows off her long legs. She has completed her outfit with a pair of black ankle boots. She is looking sexy as hell.

Teagan is a complete contrast to Rhiannon. She is simple and neat. She is wearing black jeans with a tight fit black top with a blue denim jacket over it. She looks beautiful and elegant. Her long cinnamon brown hair is tied in a high ponytail.

"Okay let's go." I announce and they all turn towards me.

"Wow girl!! This top looks way better on you than me. You are keeping it. " Autumn says.

"Agreed!!" Both Rhiannon and Teagan say together. Then they look at each other and start laughing.

After they are done laughing, we exit the suit together.

"So, where is the exit?" I ask as we start moving towards the dining hall.

"We are first going to see the headmistress and get you the allowance for this month so that you can buy things." Autumn answered.

"Allowance? How much do I get and do I get it every month?" Once again my mind was filled with questions.

" The school provides you with food and books for free. But for other things like clothes, we all get a stipend amount every month to spend as we wish. The allowance is enough that you can shop every month." Teagan answers as she leads us through winding hallways towards the headmistress's office.

Gosh! This school is huge. It will take me years to remember the routes here. Everything is so new here, like this system of allowance. But this also means that I am not totally broke, so I don't question it anymore and follow the girls.

We take two more lefts and then we stop in front of the barrier that has a nameplate on it which reads "Professor Azura". Cool name! This is the first thought I have as soon as I read the nameplate. This is it.

I knew I had to meet the headmistress sometime but I did not think it would be this early. Why didn't I ask the girls about her when we were coming here?

That's because you were too busy thinking about the money.

My inner self tells me and I know it's true. I did not think about her at all but now as I am standing in the front of her office, I can't help it. My thoughts run in all directions. Is she kind? How powerful is she? Is she like the cruel headmaster at my last school?

The sweat breaks at the back of my neck. I can feel a panic attack coming so I take a few deep breaths to calm myself. I see around to find everybody staring at me.

" You ready?" Rhiannon asks. I take another deep breath before nodding my head and in response she lifts her hand and presses her magic against the barrier. The barrier ripples as if absorbing it and then a second later, the barrier vanishes to reveal a huge beautifully lit room.

"In you go." Teagan says as she pushes me inside the room and I stumble forward. I look back to find that barrier is back in its place.

The room follows the theme of red and fold and has modern furniture. The three walls are covered in red tapestry with intricate gold work and the fourth wall has a transparent barrier. The floor is covered in cream carpet. I tilt my head up to see a huge chandelier hanging off the ceiling. It is beautiful.

"I wondered when I would get to meet you." The voice startles me and I quickly turn my head towards the wall of transparent barriers to find a woman standing in front of the glass table with her hips leaning on its edge and her legs crossed. Her stance shows off her confidence. Why didn't I notice her as soons as I entered the room?

Headmistress Azura is an elegant woman with long dirty blonde hair that reaches her waist and her slim body that could have easily won the award for best model on any runway. Her sharp blue eyes radiate warmth but they also reflect the power she holds.

She is dressed in a crisp white blouse and a navy blue pencil skirt that reaches her knees. Her feet are clad in a pair of 6 inch nude heels. But these are not the only things that I notice. I can feel her power on my skin. She is too powerful.

She drags her gaze from my face to my toes and then back up, clearly assessing me. I stand still although my cheeks heat up.

" Hello Nyra! I am headmistress Azura." She extends her hand forward and I take it for a firm shake.

" So how are you finding this place till now? "

" I have to admit all this is a bit overwhelming. Everything is new and well, it's hard to digest the fact that I am dead. But considering everything that happened in the last two days, I cannot deny that I am excited for everything that's gonna come next." I say with a big smile on my face.

" Adeel was amazing and he helped me a lot and so did my suitemates. Not only this, we are actually heading out to explore the city and they are gonna help me buy some basic stuff as well."

"Oh I see. I hope you enjoy your first time in the city of Ellesmere. It is quite beautiful and happening, so I don't think you will be bored anytime soon." She says with a glint in her eyes that makes me reassess her words.

"But before you go, I need to discuss some things with you." She says and then starts to move to the chair behind the desk and sits down.

“ Please take a seat, Nyra. This may take some time.” I do as she says and sit on the left chair.

“ Okay, so I am guessing you know the basics about this place. Right?” I nod and she continues. “Great, then I will skip the introduction. Your classes will start from tomorrow. The schedules mostly contain the classes according to the specific elements a student has and the rest of the classes are common like history and all. So for knowing what element you carry, we need to perform a ritual.”

I nod along as she tells me about the schedule and the ritual and take a mental note to ask the girls about everything in detail.

“ The ritual is very simple and won’t take much of your time. So I want you to come to my office before the classes start, that is around 7:30 am. We will find your element and then you start your school.”

“ Okay sure.” I say in response.

“ Now comes the matter of your allowance. You will be provided with 100 gold coins every month that you can spend in any way of your choice. I am giving you your first allowance so that you can buy the necessities. That’s all for now.” She says as she hands me a bag. I take it from her and then stand up to leave.

I exit the room to find Teagan, Rhiannon, and Autumn sitting in front of it and waiting for me. Their eyes shoot up to me as soon as I step out of the room.

“ How was it?” Teagan is the first to ask as she gets up from the floor.

“ It was good. She called me tomorrow morning so we can know my element through a ritual and then I will start my classes. She also gave me 100 gold coins for this month’s allowance.” I show them the bag in my hand.

“ Cool! then we are all set to have fun.” Rhiannon says and pumps her hand in the air. We all chuckle and then start walking towards the end.

"God! I am so tired." I say as we sit on the last available booth in one of the most popular restaurants in the city. Teagan slides in with me, while Rhiannon and Autumn take up the seat opposite to us.

"Okay, so who is having what?" Autumn asks.

"I will have the burger and huge fries." Rhiannon says as she keeps all the shopping bags on the side.

"I will have the same." Teagan says.

"What about you, Nyra?" Autumn asks.

"Umm...Same as these guys." I say when I come up with nothing else.

"Okay, so 3 burgers with huge fries. I will get them." Then she leaves the booth to place the order.

Oh god! I am so tired but I am happy. The day was awesome. The girls took me to the famous street of Hollowvale in Ellesmere where I could find everything I needed. We took the train that starts from school and goes over the sea of Ilya, ending at the underground station in the city. We walked a bit to reach the street of Hollowvale.

First, they took me to the clothing shop where they made me buy hundreds of tops and tees with different pairs of jeans, leggings, and shorts. Most of the bags are filled with clothes. Then they took me to buy the band. It was a little expensive but apparently it’s of utmost importance considering all my school work will be uploaded here. Not only this, with this I can contact others easily. Band was like this realm’s mobile phone.

Next stop was the stationary store where they bought me a whole set of papers, that were technically parchment sheets and called the same. Not only this, they bought me quills and ink boxes of three to four different colours. This was so different from normal life, that all I was doing while they shopped, was gawk at all the unusual stuff. Did you know this street has a shop named as “ Blair’s Shop of Magical Stuff” where the magical lamps were on display.

Teagan took us inside that shop cause she wanted to buy a necklace that changed colours according to her outfit. The shop was filled with stuff like this. I was so busy comprehending everything that I didn't even notice what Teagan bought. Not only this, there is a tattoo shop here where you can get charmed tattoos like the one that tells time or a butterfly whose colour changes according to your mood.

Rhiannon had black wings that flap constantly on the back of her neck. I had always wanted a tattoo and seeing these charmed tattoos, I knew I had to get one. But the time was less and the school had a curfew time, so we planned to do it next time we visited the city. Rhiannon promised me that she will help me choose a tattoo that is as badass as her.

After that we went to a few other shops to buy some more things that we might require for school and after hours of shopping, we finally stumbled here, in this restaurant. It is filled with people and the girls told me that is like this on every single of the week with no exceptions. A group of boys, seated diagonally from us, are playing a drinking game and are obviously wasted. A couple that are sitting across from our table and busy in their make out session. I notice that most of the crowd is of our age. Apparently, most people spend their sunday here.

“Here are your burgers.” Autumn says as she slides the plates in front of me and Rhiannon. “ Teagan, will you help me get the other plate and the drinks?”

“ Yeah, sure.” And with that, it's only me and Rhiannon on the table. I want to wait for Autumn and Teagan to come before I start eating but I am too hungry to wait, so I pick up the burger and take a bite of it.

“Heaven!” I say with my mouthful. Rhiannon laughs at my response. “ I know, right?” I nod my head so that I don’t spill everything. Within two minutes, Autumn and Teagan join us with four blue-coloured drinks and their burgers. They both moan as well when they take the first bite as well and we laugh in response.

After finishing our food, we pay our bills and then head towards the school. The trip to school is eventless and we reach the school premises well before the 10 pm weekend curfew. We find that the corridors are mostly empty. When we enter our suite, we drop our shopping bags on the floor of the living area and go into our bedrooms after mumbling ‘good nights’ and ‘sleep tights’.

Autumn takes her clothes and goes into the bathroom. Meanwhile, I change into pyjama shorts and a black camisole and climb into my bed and pull the covers over me. I hear the rustling on the other side of the room indicating that Autumn is back. Then the room goes black and I immediately fall asleep.
