It didn’t feel like we were taking a trip to do school work as we drove from the apartment complex to the beach - I felt as if we were going to a party or something, especially as Blake put the radio on way too loud and wound down the windows. It was definitely too cold to be acting like we were going to some summer beach party, but I was savoring my night of pretending to be a normal teenager and so I pulled the leather jacket I had worn a little tighter around me for comfort and smiled as if I wasn’t freezing in the back of the car without the heated seats that Brooke and Blake were enjoying. There were a few beaches near San Jose, and we hadn’t actually discussed which would be the best one to go to. Blake seemed so confident of the way he was going that I was sure he had actually been
