CHAPTER 13 FARNHAM, AND ASH GREEN, ALDERSHOT, HAMPSHIRE A stickler for punctuality, Percival glanced at his watch. It was only 10.05. Not for the first time, as he sat in his parked car on Tilford Road, he asked himself what he was doing there on a Sunday morning. The short answer was obeying orders. He stared at the semi-detached Victorian neo-Gothic building. Its brickwork was painted white on the ground floor and the second storey displayed exposed red brick. Both storeys boasted bay windows, but what struck him and made him smile was the image he created by noting the similarity of the two tall gables to an Alsatian dog’s pricked-up ears.
