Elara stepped out of her office and immediately turned her head toward the hallway. For a moment, she didn’t see him. The corridor stretched in both directions, busy with movement and noise. Employees clustered in small groups, some laughing softly, some holding folders, others walking briskly as if afraid the day might disappear again if they did not move fast enough. Voices overlapped.
