ValerieLapsing into silence seemed like the best way to deal with being stuck with Damon Saylor. Valerie didn’t know where they were going or why they were going there, and she was getting pretty pissed off at how casual Damon seemed about the whole thing. But maybe he wasn’t being too casual about it. She looked over at him. His hands were gripping the steering wheel tightly as he drove, and that didn’t look like something a man in control would do.
