POV DIANA ROSS
We arrived at a big gate in less than Thirty minutes, and the guy in charge of the gate who probably was in his early thirties smiled at me.
"Welcome to Wundt's Castle, welcome Lord Fredrick". He said with a bow.
"Did I hear him well, or are my ears deceiving me? Lord Frederick?
Like did he pick me himself when he could just send someone to pick me?
Was he curious or what?
Did he try testing me from our first encounter?
Did I pass the test or not?" I continued asking myself at this point I couldn't even bring myself to look at him.
I just brought my eyes down and was busy playing with the handle of my bag. He on the other hand giggled seeing my mood changed after I heard his name.
This only worsened the situation for me as I could not understand what he was thinking of and I kept on thinking about different things.
We arrived in front of the castle and Lucky alight first followed by its owner who I now knew was Lord Frederick. I shyly came down from the carriage.
We were met by ten people dressed in the same color of material.
"This certainly has to be servants of this castle”, I thought
They all smiled at me while I bowed to them.
"George, please help her settle" Lord Frederick said speaking to the man who by my judgment, was the most elderly of them all.
"Yes, my Lord", George replied and immediately collected my bag and then led me to the topmost part of the castle which from my guess was reserved only for the Wundt's.
Not long enough, we approached what seemed like a room but in real sense is a tiny closet.
On getting inside the closet, I was wowed by what I saw, a bed with blue and white bedspread, a wardrobe with neatly arranged clothes and shoes, a dressing table and the window which is directly facing the garden outside.
"This is where you would be staying, Miss Diane, Lord Fredericks schedule is on the cupboard." He spoke.
"Thank You Sir George" I said not really knowing how to address him knowing fully well that he was the most elderly servant in the castle. He smiled, bowed and left.
I fell on the bed dreaming of a very resting night after the long journey. I immediately remembered about Lord Fredericks schedule.
Reaching out to the cupboard and picking the schedule.
"Like seriously?" I gasped at the schedule in my hand.
I just arrived and was dreaming of a restful sleep but I really did not have any time for that.
I was literally going to be working from dusk till dawn and even now of all time, I am supposed to be serving Lord Frederick his dinner.
Hurriedly, I took my bath and changed into one of the dresses in the wardrobe. I didn't even bother to look at myself in the mirror, all I could think of was to serve his dinner.
Immediately I ran to the kitchen, asked one of the maids for his meal and then took the tray to the dining room.
On arriving at the dining room, the bottler looked at me with surprise plastered on his face.
"You must be Diana Ross, the new and personal maid to Lord Frederick" he said smiling sarcastically
"Yes, I am" I replied feeling kind of uneasy with his smile.
"I guess you didn't read Lord Fredericks properly" he said, still smiling sarcastically.
Then I remembered there was something written below the schedule but due to tiredness and frustration I didn't pay attention to it.
"Well, I guess I didn't," I said, smiling embarrassingly.
"Well, Lord Frederick always has his meals in his chamber and he hates it being a second late not to talk of being cold", said still smiling sarcastically.
"Please where's his chamber?" I asked, still feeling embarrassed.
"Beside your closet, I am sure you just glanced at the schedule", he said smiling.
"You should have said so since and you shouldn't be keeping me here" I thought inwardly.
"Well thanks for the information, I need to get going" I bowed, picked up the tray and left. I could feel him staring diggers behind me while smiling sarcastically.
I was wondering what he would do to me all the way to his chamber. I braced myself up for the worst as soon as I arrived at the front of his door.
"It's Diana please can I come in, I brought your lunch", I said after knocking the door.
There wasn't any reply, so I decided to just go in and keep his meal and leave consoling myself with the thought that he might have stepped out and he wasn't going to know I served him late nor would he be able to scold me.
I opened the door and then I noticed the presence of someone in the room because I could hear the sound of water flow from the bathroom, successfully kept the tray on the table and was tiptoeing out of the room when I bombed into a broad chest.
I could no longer feel my legs as I began trembling at the thought of being caught.
"Why is my lunch served late and why do you keep on standing with your face on my chest", Lord Frederick asked.
"Am sorry I didn't see you coming and I wasn't able to prepare since I arrived late", I said, stuttering and looking away from his naked chest.
"And what are you still doing here aren't you supposed to be preparing for my next schedule" he said arrogantly.
"Am sorry, I was about to leave", I replied feeling embarrassed and left still trembling.
.....
I immediately left for my room, got inside and sat down on the bed still feeling embarrassed.
The thought of what I just saw crept on my mind. Broad shoulders, finely chiseled jawline, green eyes, a little old wound on his chest which looked really sexy in a way, six packs, smooth skin with little droplets of water on his body.
"What's with this feeling? Stop it Diana". I scolded myself.
I stood up, walked to the dressing table and looked at myself in the mirror, my cheeks turning red as I recalled what I just saw.
"Stop it Diana, you aren't here for this", I said, slapping my cheeks.
I reached out for the drawer and pulled out the schedule. Am supposed to be taking Lucky for a walk.
I immediately went to Lucky's kennel, took his paddle, put it on him and then led him around the castle.
I took the opportunity to get to show myself around since no one offered to do so. Of all the parts of the castle I loved the garden which my window was facing because I've always been fond of flowers and I wasn't allergic to pollen.
I admired the horse stable but since I did not know how to ride a horse, I did not really fancy it.
The golf course wasn't really my thing, same thing with the horse ranch. I also loved the field because it also gives me the feeling of being in the countryside.
I spent my time at the field with Lucky and then walked him back to the castle. I removed his paddle and then left him in his kennel.
Entering into the castle I immediately went into my room, entered the bathroom, washed my hands and then picked the schedule.
It was time for Lord Fredericks horse riding exercise.
I left to prepare for it while waiting for him at the horse stable. Not long enough, he came to the stable already dressed up.
"Hello Louis, my boy, how have you been doing?" He said nicely to the only white horse in the stable while parting it.
"So, you can be this nice and kind to a horse and you're treating me horribly" I thought, staring daggers at him.
"Are you ready for today's exercise?" he asked Louis.
He immediately rode Louis out of the stable into the ranch. I followed suit and watched him ride round and round. It was really boring since I didn't really see anything funny or interesting about it.
At long last he was done riding. And then he came down from Louis and handed him to me to return him to the stable.
Louis started misbehaving, I couldn't control it and before I knew what was happening, there I was facing the mud on the floor.
Lod Frederick stood watching me irritated by how I fell and remained on the floor.
Meanwhile, I was perceiving the smell of blood all over my face as I felt stuck to the floor.
"Aren't you going to get up?" Lord Frederick asked irritably. I didn't respond. He walked up to where I was lying down, still no response. He immediately reached out to me and flipped me over.
"Oh, my goodness! Did Louis really do this to you? Why didn't you tell me you were not used to horses?" He exclaimed looking at me with mixed feelings.
"If I had told you, would you have listened?" I thought to myself.
I could not really answer him.
I remained lying on the floor, but this time, I was facing the sky.
Lord Frederick immediately carried me from the floor and rode back to the castle.
I momentarily forgot I was in pain and was lost in the moment, feeling his chest again for the second time. I really could not understand what was happening to me.
"Did I contract a heart disease due to the accident?" I asked myself not knowing why my heart was pounding very fast and why I could not breathe.
"Don't worry you're safe now". Lord Frederick repeatedly said.
