Aurora's POV
I can't work out why Logan and Diane, in two completely separate conversations, land on the exact same line the second they lay eyes on Damien. Neither of them explains it. I don't chase it either, not in the moment.
I decide it isn't worth the energy. Whatever they mean by it, they both clearly want the same thing out of me, which is to walk back through Redmoon's gates and stay there.
Damien finds me still standing where Diane left me, staring at nothing in particular.
"Are you all right?" His hand comes up to my jaw, tilting my face toward the light like he's checking for damage.
"I'm fine." I step back out of his hold, and something in me flinches at putting even that much distance between us. "Really."
