When he got home, Constantino found Maya sleeping. He lay down beside her, feeling the tranquility of the moment. The rain was falling outside, the gentle sound of the drops hitting the window, creating a relaxing symphony. The feeling of peace enveloped Constantino; he absorbed the sensation. He thought he would never feel this again, but he was wrong; his peace was Maya. He looked at her and kissed her hair. Now he could take her out for a walk, dinner... without the “five” causing trouble, and she could breathe normally… He pulled the blanket to cover them both, snuggling closer to Maya. He felt the warmth of her body, the calm and steady breathing. He closed his eyes, allowing himself to truly relax. At that moment, the phone rang; it was Anastácia's number, but it was very late.
