I asked, extending my hand toward him the moment I stepped out of his car. He was always such a gentleman, never failing to open the door for me. Sutehan just stared at my hand, silent. "I mean, friends when we're outside the workplace. If you want, that is," I corrected quickly, suddenly self-conscious. Maybe he was hesitating because I was the one who had ghosted our friendship in the past. Why would he want me back in his life now? Maybe he has no intention of accepting my offer of friendship again. Well, of course... he's my boss now. I pouted at the thought. Just as I was about to pull my hand back, he suddenly caught my wrist, pulled me forward, and wrapped his arms around me. My mouth literally fell open in sheer shock. What just happened? Did he hate the idea of being just friends? Or did he hug me so I wouldn't feel the sting of being rejected? "Alright, go on inside," he murmured, gently patting my shoulder after breaking the hug. "But don't you ever treat me like your boss if you want us to be friends again," he added, a teasing smile playing on his lips as he reached out to pinch my cheek. I blinked rapidly and nodded, my mind still completely unable to process what had just transpired. "Goodbye, baby Grumpy... Mommy will visit you whenever I have some free time, okay?" I peeked through the car window, where Grumpy was sitting, staring back at me. He was probably traumatized by all the kisses I’d showered him with earlier, but I just couldn’t help it—he was too adorable. I had insisted earlier that he come along to drop me off, and Sutehan had eventually agreed. "Don't you have anything to say to Grumpy's Daddy?" Sutehan asked. I turned to look at him, seeing him pouting like a duck right in front of me. "Take care of Grumpy. If he gets even a single scratch or wound, you’ll have me to deal with!" I warned, narrowing my eyes and pointing a finger at him. He scratched his head, looking completely taken aback by my sudden protectiveness. I laughed at his reaction, turned on my heel, and walked straight toward the apartment Vin and I shared, never once looking back. I absolutely hated looking back whenever I said goodbye. I opened the door using my spare key. The moment I stepped inside, the entire place was pitched in darkness. I flicked the light switch, and my eyes immediately caught sight of red rose petals strewn across the floor, forming a trail that led straight toward our bedroom. There were also empty liquor bottles scattered around the living room that I didn't pay much attention to. ‘What is this mess with him?’ Curious and slightly uneasy, I followed the trail of roses. But the moment I stopped in front of the slightly ajar bedroom door, my entire world ground to a sudden, screeching halt. "What's going on here?" I asked, my voice sounding completely hollow, even though my eyes knew exactly what they had done. Just friends? They were lying naked, side-by-side, in the very bedroom of our apartment! Is this the new definition of "just friends"? How romantic. He even laid out rose petals for her. "H-Hon, let me explain—" Vin stammered, frantically scrambling to pull his clothes back on. Out of all the moments in my life where I could have frozen like a statue, why did it have to be now? I should have run. I should have bolted the second I saw them, but my feet were glued to the floor. Furanshin woke up next, her face turning pale with sheer terror the moment she saw me standing in the doorway. She quickly yanked the blanket up to cover her bare body. So, they had been screwing behind my back!. "DON'T TOUCH ME! You're disgusting! Both of you are disgusting!" I screamed at the top of my lungs when Vin attempted to step toward me, reaching out with the very hands he had just used to desecrate our relationship. Guilt and fear swirled in his eyes, but I couldn't tell if he actually regretted his actions or if he was just terrified of getting caught. Unable to hold it in any longer, hot tears began to stream down my face. I was furious—mostly at myself, because I was still standing there, trapped in my own home. I want to slap them over and over until I get tired and their faces swell up! “Was it good? Was your best friend good?!” I screamed, completely losing my mind. "I thought you were going to make things right with me! I haven't even moved past the fact that you repeatedly made me wait for nothing on our anniversary, and now this?” Furanshin was frantically putting her clothes on in a panic. Vin just stood there, his head bowed, unable to meet my gaze. "Are you playing games with me? Since when?! Since when did you two start making a fool out of me?! TELL ME! Don't you dare try to lie to me and tell me that you love me! Is there anyone who loves someone like this? This is sheer mockery!” It's always like this! Whenever I get angry, he just stays silent and looks down! He can't even match my energy to explain his side! Is he actually playing games with me? He already knew it would hurt me, so why did he still do it? Furanshin tried to slip past me to get to the door, but I violently grabbed her arm, locking my grip onto her skin. I squeezed hard, fueled by pure, unadulterated rage. I knew Vin and I had been rocky, but I could never forgive a woman who knowingly threw herself at a committed man—especially when that man was supposed to be her close friend. I absolutely despised cheaters. Vin tried to step in to pry my hand off because Furanshin was already whimpering in pain, but I shot him a deadly glare. A look that clearly said ‘Try me, and see what happens.’ "WAS IT GOOD? DID HE SCREW YOU BETTER? ARE YOU SATISFIED?! ANSWER ME! So that I'd know if you enjoyed it and IF HE ENJOYED IT MORE!" I let out a bitter, mocking laugh. Seeing her sob only disgusted me more. I violently shoved her arm away, sending her stumbling backward. Her knight in shining armor immediately caught her. "RUI! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU—" "WHAT? RUI??You have the nerve to be angry at me?! After what you've done?!" I shrieked, my voice cracking. "She's not going to die just because she tripped! You are both so foul! You have no idea how much more painful the agony is right here inside my chest! I am the one who got cheated on by my wonderful boyfriend of seven years, the boyfriend who always chose his girl best friend over me! I feel like I'm going crazy overthinking when it started and why?!" I was hysterical, sobbing uncontrollably. “I am the one who was completely clueless that you two were doing things far worse behind my back, yet she is the one crying?! And I'm the one who ends up looking like the villain!" Every single framed picture and piece of clothing belonging to Vin that caught my eye, I grabbed and hurled straight at them, smashing whatever hit the floor. BOGSSHH CLASHH "ARGHHH!! I WANTED TO KILL YOU BOTHHH!! Aren't you aware, Vin, that I love you so, so much?! I love you! I love you so damn much! How could you do this to me?! Huh? Is it because I'm gullible? Because no one else loves me except you, that's why you're just making a fool out of me?!”
