JEALOUSY AND PROTECTION

"I saw Brian looking at us from a corner and a devilish idea came into my head. Let's make someone jealous shall we? I said to myself
" Oh my god, you're flattering me" I said and acted shyly.
" You're very beautiful. I wish I had found you earlier. I would have made you the happiest person than he does" he said closing the distance between us. He tried to touch my face when Brian pushed him.
" Don't you dare touch my wife" he yelled angrily and held my hand dragging me away. He brought me to a garden found at the back of the house. I jerked my hands from him.
" What are you doing. We're in public"
" Well I should be asking you that. What are you doing flirting with another guy. You're married"
I rolled my eyes at his statement.
" It's a fake marriage. We go our separate ways after the contract expires and what becomes of me. Shouldn't I be looking for someone I can settle with"
"I know it's not real. But people can make a scandal out of this just to tarnish my name " he said and I humfed. Flimsy excuses to cover up huh.
" Oh really... What about bringing your f*cking girlfriend under our roof ? Can't it tarnish your name when it gets out? " I asked and he became mute
"You always cheat and flirt with other girls but I'm not allowed to do so" I said and was about to leave, when the next thing he did shocked me. He pulled me and hugged me from the back.
"Please don't do that to me. My blood boils with anger when I see another man near you. I'm sorry for everything okay "
What did I just hear? Did he just say sorry? Or my ears were deceiving me? Brian said sorry and he admitted he's jealous. I let him stay like that for a while and let myself out of his embrace letting go without saying anything to him.
The party was over. The ride back was quiet. We all retired to the bed feeling tired. We shared one bed now but we made sure to maintain our privacy.
Brian's POV
I was even surprised at myself for my actions and saying those words. But it wasn't a lie. I've grown to like Natalie a lot. She's beautiful, sweet,calm and innocent. She's the opposite of Hailey. Always clingy, possessive and aggressive.
I didn't know if I was falling in love with her but I couldn't decipher my feelings. A part of me didn't want to accept that I was in love. I had only wanted to have a taste of her aside from a son.. but I think I'm beginning to develop feelings for her. That's why I couldn't stand it when another man tried to touch my woman. As for Kelvin, he'll be punished for flirting with my woman. I wasn't planning on settling down with Hailey even if we divorced. I was already tired of her and my family didn't like her either. I was expecting her to say something after my apology but she just kept silent. Her silence was killing me. Maybe she was confused. I stared at her fair toned skin and cute pink lips as she slept. Still beautiful even in sleep. I smiled. I wanted to kiss her forehead goodnight but what if she wakes up and catches me in the act. No! I turned to my side of the bed.
