08. You Again

Deborahs's POV I stared at the black gate right in front of me, my sweaty fingers gripping the handle of my makeup box tightly. I was not going to panic. I promised myself that. The house right in front of me was far from what I expected. The outside wall was painted a dark shade of brown and the ground was made of inter-locked bricks. There was also a big black gate protecting the house. It was simple and I absolutely loved it. Swallowing hard at the mix of excitement and nervousness building inside me, I approached the gate, slowing down gradually when a black sleek car exited the gate and a rugged looking man closed it after them. I walked closer to the man and he paused what he was doing when he noticed me, directing his curious gaze at me. My heart started racing and I wished at this point I was anywhere but under the scrutinizing gaze of this scary, burly man. He also stood too tall for my liking, with cold eyes burning daggers into me for no reason. 'Hello there I'm Debby ah.. and I.. ' I stuttered, my nerves escalating all over again. 'What do you want?' The harshness of his voice caused me to jump slightly. Oh God! 'I.. I'm sorry to intrude sir, but I got a DM from Miss Laura Peters on i********:, inviting me over to do her makeup. I t.. thought she was going to inform you of my arrival since she was in bit of a haste for me to come. Maybe you should uhh go in to tell her I'm around or something.. ' 'Yes, of course she told me she was expecting you, but..' he paused, his eyebrows dipping into a frown as eyed me from my feet back to the top my head.' his eyes switched to a hungry gaze when he looked back at me. 'What is your name again?' 'I'm Debby. Uh, I'm pretty sure I told you that before.' I chuckled nervously, biting my lip. I could not explain the amount of fear and nervousness I felt mixed together. I mean, I shouldn't be afraid of him. He can be almost twice my height, big and strong with a monster voice but I committed no crime, so there's nothing he can do to me. 'Hmm.' He nodded and licked his full black lips making me cringe. His eyes kept roaming around my body which made me feel uncomfortable and I immediately regretted coming. It would be best if I just left. 'Come in.' He finally said and I breathed out a sigh of relief. Opening the gate widely, I walked inside. 'Walk down there.' he pointed at a long side walk leading to a door, 'and knock on the first brown door you see. She would open up it up for you and..' Walking closer to me like a predator to it's prey, he sneered. 'Make sure you don't wander around.' I breathed in deeply, and nodded my head. Forcing a smile, I thanked him and walked towards the brown door. I looked around me and was impressed with what I saw. Live flowers decorated everywhere adding color to the surrounding. There was also a garage with three cars parked in it, a basketball court and a mini pool. It was more like what I was expecting unlike the exterior. Reaching the huge brown door, I reluctantly knocked on it twice. Few seconds later, the door opened and I was met with a cheerful looking face. 'Hey. You are debbiesmakeover on IG yeah?' Swallowing hard, I nodded. 'Hi. Yes I am.' 'Cool. Please come in.' She replied with a bright and friendly smile. I smiled politely and walked. Resisting the urge to look around the house, I stood right beside her staring at my feet awkwardly. She closed the door and walked after me. Was I supposed to follow or just wait?! s**t! 'Please have a seat at the dining room over there.' She pointed at the dining room at the left side side of the parlour. 'I left my phone in my room. Let me go get it.' 'Oh yeah. Please do.' I answered nervously. She nodded and walked up the stairs to her room. I finally exhaled deeply and relaxed my tensed shoulders. Looking around the living room, it was twice as big as mine at home. The wall was painted mint green giving it a fresh and tropical oasis feel alike. The floor was also neatly tiled with a fluffy white centre rug in the middle of the room and a glass table was placed on top of it. The cushion padded sofas were made of a strong black leather and a huge flat screened TV was placed on the wall with a stereo system beside it. The silky curtain blinds was a bright cream colour and there were also several expensive paintings on the wall. It was beautiful. I walked over to the well furnished small dinning room and placed my makeup box on the dining table. I then took my seat on the well cushioned chair and waited patiently for her. A picture on the wall suddenly catches my attention. Walking closer to it, the picture drawed me in like a magnet. I subconsciously grazed it gently with my finger and sucked a harsh breath in. It was a full frame of Timini Peters with him receiving an award. He was decked up in a three-piece suit and he looked so good. Oh sweet lord. 'Don't tell me you're also smitten with my brother ?' I heard a soft, amused voice ask behind me. I turned around and met Laura's smirking face, with her hand resting on her slim waist. 'No no, I'm sorry. The picture looked really nice and I was just taking a look.' She chuckled, 'Chill, I was just joking. I just find it confusing when everyone goes 'oh he's so handsome' she gestured with her hands 'over my brother. I mean, he looks pretty normal to me.' she said, shrugging. My eyes widened as I stared at her unbelievably. Was she kidding me right now? Scoffing, I argued back. 'Um i don't think he's pretty normal to me or anybody. He literally looks like a greek god.' She giggled. 'Oh! you know him?' 'Yes I do.' I replied, wringing my fingers shyly. Walking over to her at the dining room, she sat down on one of the seats and packed her braids up from her face. 'Okay cool. He's pretty popular. Especially with the ladies.' She winked. Sudden heat rushed to my face as I blushed. 'I'm ready if you are.' She declared with a knowing smile. Nodding my head, I opened my makeup box and carried on with what I came here to do. Her makeup. ** 30 minutes later I was halfway done with the makeup and Sharon kept saying funny things which was cracking me up big time. She was absolutely the funniest person I had ever met and her vibe was a 100%. She told me funny stories about her high school and also the boys she had dated even though she said her brother didn't want her to have a boyfriend. 'Why doesn't he want you to have a boyfriend?' I asked chuckling. 'That one?? He wants me single forever. You need to see his face whenever I talk about any boy. He gets really scared and I don't know why.' She shook her hair, sighing. 'Older brothers are always more overprotective of their female siblings so it's totally normal. He just wants the best for you and doesn't want any douchebag to ruin your life.' I replied while applying contour on her cheek and blending it in with the foundation. 'Yeah I know. He's more protective than my parents are and he still thinks I'm a baby who shouldn't know anything about relationships or s*x or anything. Guy I'm tired.' I stopped what I was doing and faced her. 'Look babe, there's nothing you can do. Your brother would always feel like you are too young to have a boyfriend. I don't have an elder brother like you do but from what my friends (my only friend Laura) tell me, I understand very well about what you're talking about. You just gotta get used to it that's all. And also enjoy your life don't mind him. When he sees you are happy, he would be the first person to support you. She nodded and smiled brightly. 'Okay thank you very much.' then she chuckled, 'When you first got in you were pretty uptight. I thought you didn't like me or something.' 'Oh no no why won't I like you?' I continued with the makeup on her face. I was done blending the contour so I proceeded with applying eye liner on the lid of her eye, creating a winged shape. 'I was just nervous that's all. And..' 'And what?' she asked intrigued. 'And um..' I cleared my throat. 'I thought your brother was going to be here but I guess he's not.' She exclaimed dramatically. 'Someone has a huge crush on my brother.' If I was pale, I'd have been as red as a tomato right now. 'N.. no it's not like that. I just.. I just feel like I'd be a little intimidated when he's around.' I bit my lip shyly. 'Intimidated? Trust me, my brother can be big and muscular and all that but he's just a teddy bear inside.' I smiled sweetly and nodded trying to focus on the eyeshadow I was now applying on her eye lids and not the butterflies in my stomach. 'My bad. I uh.. I didn't know that.' I said quietly and my lips twisted as I tried to hold back a smile. Then I remembered, 'And yes, your security man is also kind of creepy. No offense.' 'Abi!! I told my brother several times I didn't like him but he still keeps him there I don't know why.' I shrugged. Her face was filled with acne scars and some scattered pimples so I tried my best to cover it up with a concealer and give it a fine finish look. 'He's probably good at his job or something. I just didn't like how he was looking at me that's all.' She looked up at me, a worried expression on her face. 'Looking at you? How??' 'His eyes was raking up my body and I felt really uncomfortable.' I said and immediately felt bad afterwards. I hoped she wouldn't start viewing me as an Amebo, (A gossip.) She sighed, with a worried and angry look now on her face. 'Look, I'm so sorry. I've always had this bad feeling about that man and I'm going to talk to my brother about it tonight. I'm so sorry he made you feel that way.' 'Oh no it's not that a big of a deal.' I quickly said. 'i guess I am just overreacting. I don't think that stare meant anything.' I knew it meant something because I saw the lust that clouded his eyes after he looked at me but I just didn't want to use my big mouth to make someone loose his job. 'No. Him looking at you like that is wrong. I will talk to my brother when he is back.' She pressed. 'When he is back? Oh.' I gritted my teeth together trying to stop myself from asking the question I wanted to ask ever since I stepped my foot into this house but like I always did, I said before thinking. 'Where is he? Did he travel somewhere?' She laughed like what I said was funny and I immediately regretted asking. I sounded creepy, and I've been looking for various ways to bring up topics about her brother. I was sure she noticed already. 'You see, if I tell you this you're not going to believe it. My brother is at work, working his ass off like he does every freaking time.' I squinted my eyebrows in confusion. 'But today's Sunday. He works on Sundays too?' 'Yes he does. It's not that he's entitled to but he just likes to bury himself into his work. He's a one lonely workaholic.' She replied, rolling her eyes. 'i always tell him to take a break and working on Sundays is ridiculous but he just doesn't listen.' Out of everything she said, all I processed was that he always worked on Sundays and he was also a LONELY workaholic. Lonely?? I thought he had a girlfriend. I bit my lip, to stop myself from asking her if he was single so I hummed instead. 'Yeah. I'm sure you think he's wierd too.' she said with a small laugh. 'No no no I don't. He's obsessed with his job I guess.' I blurted. What the f**k Debbie?! Obsessed??! 'So, are you going somewhere special. With all this glammed up look.' I asked changing the topic. Her face brightened up to a smile and she nodded. 'Yes yes I am.' 'Boyfriend's place?' I teased. She smiled cheekily. 'Um no and yes. I'm not going to my boyfriend's place, I'm going to his cousin's. He's having a birthday bash which is starting this evening by..' Checking the time on the wristwatch on her wrist, '6pm.' 'And yeah, my boyfriend's going to be around too.' 'Oouu. You have a boyfriend. That's really sweet.' i replied, applying a nude blush to her prominent cheekbones. 'Yeah thanks. We haven't seen eachother since I resumed school and I'm super psyched about finally meeting him.' She exclaimed excitedly. 'Well, that would be a hell lot of excitement bubbling inside of you. If it was me, I won't be able to sit still to do this makeup. I would be super nervous.' 'I am nervous trust me. I'm just good at hiding it and the thought of how dumbfounded he would be when he sees me glammed up with this makeup is making it easier for me. At least I won't be the only one short of words when we meet.' She held her head high and said confidently. 'Well I cannot agree more with you. He doesn't know what is about to come for him. He'd be so transfixed he won't be able to talk again.' I cheered and we both laughed. 'And who do we have here?!' My grip loosened and I stopped dead A deep voice asked from behind me and I heard the door close after. 'Hey! You are back early brother.' Sharon called out. 'Yes I couldn't leave you bored at home alone sweet sis. Who's your friend?' The voice calmly asked. I whipped my head around and.. Oh f*****g hell. There stood in all his glory and power, was a devilishly handsome man. Timini Peters.
