Five Years Later…

Atom Harcourt nodded as the judge granted his divorce. He didn’t look at Gail as she stood across the room from him. He already knew what her expression would be. Pain, betrayal, hatred. And he deserved it all. Gail was a good woman, and he’d been selfish enough to marry her just to make his father happy. It hadn’t worked.
Now his father was gone, and Gail loathed the very sight of him. I’m sorry, he wanted to tell her, I’m sorry I’m such a weak bastard.
