"What happened?" Callahan asked me as I halted and my face bore a scowl. Didn't she just ruin my love life yesterday?
"Emily. That's the girl who..." I stopped.
"Ah. I see." Callahan's wicked smile got back as he followed my gaze, "So that's Emily. Nice girl, I say."
I looked at him with an even bigger scowl on my face as he shrugged, "What? That girl is full of lust in her mind. And you know how much I love lust."
I narrowed my eyes on him as he said, "I would love to make her my toy in hell." He nodded as the couple was in a hurry to get themselves out of their clothes. "I am certain she would serve her purpose well."
"Yeah, sure." I shook my head and was about to get away when Callahan proposed, "Why don't you take a picture of them and send it to your boyfriend?"
"Wha—!" I snapped my head at him and said, "No! I don't want to do that and secondly, Fred is not my boyfriend."
"Why not?" He asked innocently.
"Why not what?"
"Why not send him the photo?"
"Because..." I thought for a moment because I didn't know why.
"Because you don't want your little dear boyfriend to know what he is getting?" Callahan's voice was very genuine but you could not miss the mockery in them. "Because he would get hurt?"
It was irritating how true his words were yet frustrating that I was thinking of Fred if he got hurt or not. "No! Because I have nothing to do with them anymore. If Fred is getting a girl like her who loves sleeping with everyone then it is his problem, not mine."
I turned around, "He should have known what he was getting into."
Callahan smiled at me amusingly as he said, "Justified. But a little fun would not hurt, would it?"
I tilted my head at him with a pair of questioning eyes and he smiled. The smile which would give anyone shiver as I knew there was something brewing in his head.
"Yes, you are right." He nodded as he read my thoughts.
"What do you mean by that?" I looked around and saw a waiter had mistakenly spilled the drinks on them as our billionaire boss was shouting at him while Emily was trying to get him to calm down and her eyes fell on me.
We both went still. s**t! She saw me!
"Yes, she saw you." Callahan grinned beside me as I glared at him.
It was all his plans!
"Yes, you are correct, once again." Callahan nodded as if he was proud of what he had done. The waiter didn't spill the drinks for them to get irritated in the middle of their very personal moments but Callahan made him do that so Emily could notice me.
Emily's eyes went wide and as soon as our boss looked at our way, his eyes widened too.
I closed the gap in my mouth as I drifted my eyes away from them and my mind was forming ideas to avoid the situation. Also, I didn't want to get on my boss's bad side.
"Carson!" A male voice called and it was very familiar as I hear it almost eight hours a day. s**t!
I turned around and saw our boss was coming my way while adjusting his shirt and tuxedo. Emily followed suit with her eyes looking everywhere but me.
"Umm... Mr Anderson. Hello," I greeted rather stiffly and nodded, "So great to see you here."
Mr Anderson looked at me then his eyes moved toward my chest and slowly scrutinized me whole. Suddenly, I recalled I wasn't in my working clothes but in a really short and revealing dress. My face heated as my hands subconsciously tried to hide my body from his gaze.
"You..." He said, "You are looking great!" His compliment didn't make me feel special as his eyes said he was thinking something very a******y. He smiled and it was full of mischief.
Emily didn't like the look he was giving me as she bore a long scowl and I had to agree with her in this.
Mr Anderson was in his mid thirties and a bachelor. Even though he was strict and a douchebag in the office, he was a womanizer. He often had his hands--or rather, d**k--wrapped around beautiful colleagues of his office. Although he didn't like tardiness and was bossy, he was a different man outside of that twenty storied building.
He had never set his eyes on me as I was the workaholic colleague with four eyes who would only look at someone if they had some documents in their hands.
"Thank you, Mr Anderson." I said as I sensed Emily sending me daggers from her eyes.
"Oh, please. Don't call me Mr Anderson here. We're not in the office," he smiled showing his amazing white teeth. "Call me Davis."
I nodded hesitantly as I had never called him with any other names but only with the formal one. Calling your boss by his first name would be very awkward for me.
"Look who is here..." She said as she gained Davis's attention and it seemed he had forgotten all about her.
"Hey, Emily." I said awkwardly and I wanted to leave them alone but it seemed Emily was surprised to see me here as she said, "How come you are here?"
"I..." Well, I came here with a devil who was my contractor but that I wasn't supposed to say. "I came here with a friend."
She c****d an eyebrow as she looked beside me, "Where?"
I looked around and there was no sign of Callahan. Darn that devil! He left me with them! Now I could not use it as an excuse.
"Um..." I stammered, "I—I think he went to the bathroom."
"Then why don't we have a drink?" Davis proposed as he came beside me to the bartender. And as he leaned his body was almost hovering over me and I side stepped immediately.
"No. I already have enough for today. We were just leaving." I said.
"You and drinking?" Emily asked, crossing her perfectly manicured hands above her chest and raising a brow.
Well, Emily knew I don't drink as well as my family background. She knew everything about me as I told her about it but now I regret it.
"Sometimes." I answered which earned me a scoff from her.
However, seeing Devis trying to get my attention and not paying any heed to her made her angry. She came toward me and slowly pushed me away so she could lean against him. But it seemed Devis had already lost his interest in her as he evaded her and again, stood beside me.
"Davis, why don't we just go over there?" She asked him as he looked at her with a lazy gaze and said, "No, I need a drink."
"So what do I get for you." Devis turned to me as I shook my head but he was very infested on getting me a drink and ordered even though I denied it.
As the bartender placed our glasses, I knew I could not afford to get another drink otherwise I would lose my composure.
I held the glass and Devis insisted me to drink it up. I was about to drink it when a large hand held my hand and the glass moved its direction toward the man behind me.
Callahan drank it and placed the glass on the counter as he said, "Thanks for the drink."
All three of us looked at him with wide eyes; Devis and Emily with shocked eyes and me with relieved ones.
I released a breath as Devis said with gritted teeth, "It is very disrespectful to snatch a drink from a lady."
"Oh, why?" Callahan looked at him mischievously and asked, "Have you mixed something in it, perhaps?"
Devis went still and I moved my doubtful gaze at him. He mixed something?
Damn that Devis! He wanted to warm his bed with me!
"Yes, that is true. But," Callahan's lips brushed on my earlobe as he said in a lower voice, "It won't ever happen in my watch."
He had heard my thoughts again and now my cheeks heated and his husky voice made it worse as I felt my heart going bonkers.
"Excuse me, but who are you?" Devis asked as his eyes looked between Callahan and me.
"I am Callahan," he stretched his hands but Devis didn't take it. At that, I felt a little anger dwelling in me however, Callahan didn't seem to mind that as he took back his hand and added, "I am her boyfriend."
All three of us looked at him with wide eyes, again in sheer shock. Emily's eyes drifted between us as if she could not register his words and Devis looked as if someone took his lollipop.
"I— Well. I didn't know you had a boyfriend." Devis said and added, "I am sorry to interrupt you two."
"No worries. I didn't mind it." Callahan said with his smile still lingering on his face.
"What about Fred?" Emily asked all of a sudden and it seemed she instantly realized that she was with Devis.
"Why don't you ask him yourself?" I asked back.
Tension appeared on her shoulders as Devis asked, "Who is Fred?"
"Carson's boy—"
"—ex boyfriend." I added, "Well, certain someone had fun with him the other day." I left the mystery to solve as Devis's eyes sparked with interest.
Emily seemed to be in a dire situation as she was trying to get into his pants but if he asked, she could never tell that she was the one who had fun with someone else's boyfriend.
Devis must have sensed something was going on between me and Emily as his eyes narrowed at both of us. But before he could ask, Emily diverted the conversation, "Why don't we leave them, Devis? They seemed to be busy."
Devis nodded but now his eyes lost interest in her as he said, "Well, Carson. We will meet at the office."
I nodded as he went ahead, leaving behind Emily.
