Chapter 1
"Another lovely day, but alas, it seems unworthy of celebration" (I yawn). "
Was I talking to myself? It appears so, regardless, I must prepare for my classes.
As I hurried towards my classroom in the sweltering heat, perspiring profusely, I collided with a human! Yes a human!
I collided directly into his shoulder, not exaggerating, the fragrance of his cologne was pleasing to the senses. Gently grasping my shoulder, he brought me to a stop. And made me stand still.
“I offer my sincerest apologies.” What words can I offer in response to such a situation?
“Your clumsiness is quite evident, yet your grammar is so fancy” (chuckles melodiously).
Despite finding his laughter adorable, I did not like his his voice. Yet, who am I to pass judgment?
“Very well, bye! ” For what reason must I stand there for an hour? I am here to attain wisdom and knowledge.
“Is there nothing further to add?” He says.
"Pray, should I incorporate sugar or salt into this concoction?" Exhale, inhale.
"May I request your patience as I consult a dictionary to comprehend the intricacies of your words, and delve into the nuances of each phrase you have uttered?" He extended his hand in a princely manner, and... and that distinctive accent.
"No, thank you. I am busy." I have no interest in, nor will I succumb to, these deceitful tactics.
"Until we meet again." And he winks at me! What do men of this era think of themselves? Chico Lachowski, perhaps? Oh no, I'm late for my class.
