"Don't even think about finishing that sentence! You need to shut up and fight! So, shift lazy ass into your wolf! So, you can fight like the man, you THINK you are!" I heard Kent yell. "May the best man win!" Kent continued. Then I heard nothing but silence. It must've gotten quiet because they were shifting and fighting; that gave me the incentive to think, but I needed to think very fast! As I began to think, I begin to pace back and forth, while contemplating on what to do next. 'What am I going to do now? I can't let them fight to the death over me. My father started this fight with the whole arranged marriage bit. So, since he's dead, I will be the one to end this fight with the death of Percy!' Then it clicked or at least it started too.
"Hello, Jane!" I froze. Then I looked all around at all of the bodies on the floor around me. "Who's there?" I whisper. I waited for a moment, seeing if I could get a response. But, it was nothing but quiet. So, I begin to look and see if someone was still alive, I had thought every body here was dead but things could have changed. Maybe someone was still alive and had spoken quietly where I couldn't hear them. But, at last, there was not a single body alive. I must've been hearing things. I just stood there probably looking dumb. After thinking and most definitely looking dumb, I had come up with the conclusion that I am hearing things. "No, silly! You are not hearing things! Let's try this again, shall we? Hello, Jane. My name is Athena and I am your inner wolf. You are probably that I am coming to your way too late, am I right?" She pauses just long enough for me to mumble a 'yes.' "I am sorry that I came later than what other wolves would've expected. I would've come sooner if it was up to me, but the Moon Goddess said no. None the less, I am here now and I am here to help you whenever you need it."
"Ok. Is there a point as to why you just decided to show up now?" I asked my wolf, the b***h. I was getting impatient.
"Yes, there is a point! Jeez, I guess we could get to work right away. Anyways, I understand that our mate is outside those doors fighting for his life. I know this because I have been in touch with Adolph, Kent's wolf. We need to go help him. He may die without our help! Are you willing to let him die for us? Don't answer that! I know the real answer you want. So, chop-chop, young lady, let's go!" Athena barked. She just showed up and now she thinks she is the boss of me. 'b***h!' I thought about her.
"Yep, you are one too! Now, we need to move and go help our mate! I let you know when you need to shift and how to do that if need be." Athena spoke up after she heard my thoughts. She's a sassy and feisty wolf.
"How did you know what I thought?" I asked Athena, trying to play dumb, but she kept quiet after that. Surprise, surprise! I guess that means the fun's over and the work is to begin. I began to gather the remainder of my thoughts and walked through the castle doors to go outside. Apparently, I chose a good time to come outside because Kent was knocked out, almost dead in Percy's wolf's jaws. I wanted to scream, but I thought against it. Instead of screaming, I wait until Percy's wolf throws Kent's limp body twenty feet away. Once I see Kent land, I make quick work of making myself run and before I knew it, I was standing in-between Kent and Percy.
"Awww! Isn't this sweet? You finally decide to come outside and join the fight. Only to watch your precious mate die! But, now are you going to fight? You don't have your wolf yet. Or do you?" Percy asked in a mocking tone.
"Don't you worry about me! Worry about yourself and worry about saving your own ass! In a few moments when I am done talking, I will say 'shift!' You better shift and bring on the best fight of your life!" I yell at him.
"What? Who am I going to fight? Because your 'mate' is already almost dead and that's your fault! You made your bed and now you must lie in it!" Percy laughed.
"You are going to be fighting ME! While you were trash-talking my mate and me, my wolf showed up, and let me tell you, she's not happy!" I say, very infuriated.
"You've got to be joking! I am NOT going to fight you! You're a woman, a she-wolf, and you should do what a woman does best and leave the fighting to us, men!" Percy continues on being sexist; that was the last straw.
"SHIFT, you asshole! I am your QUEEN and you MUST OBEY my orders!" I say in my Alpha voice through my clenched teeth. I have had enough of his arrogant ass. This has got to end and it has to end NOW!
"Fine, your 'highness!' I must say I like your bravery, but it's very dumb of you and will get you and your 'mate' killed!" Percy says as he puts extra emphasis on 'highness' and 'mate. Then he begins to walk away. I let him think he's won, but really he hasn't! Percy was about fifty feet from the castle doors and I begin running towards him. "Shift, Jane! Envision your wolf form! What you think you look like as a wolf!" Athena barked her orders. I then closed my eyes and thought of a wolf. About ten minutes later, I was a wolf. I was Athena. I decided to run after Percy. He was almost in the castle.
"You need to SHIFT! SHIFT now!" Athena commands him in her Alpha female voice. He still didn't answer. So, I began to scratch and tear at him. Sooner or later, Percy begins to bleed and lose his limbs. He screamed a lot but after about fifteen minutes, there was silence. It was peaceful. I was grateful. Once his limbs were torn off and all that was left was his head and his torso, while he was bleeding out, I looked up and spoke loud enough for his pack to speak.
"For those of you that were part of that bastard's pack, I suggest you go home and only can back it's necessary. Take this body and let him bleed out until he's dead! Find his son and adopt him out. Also, take his limbs and get the f**k out of my face! I don't wish bad upon you, but you guys might want to pray to the Goddess and be grateful I only killed your Alpha! Now, scram!" I walk towards the spot where Kent lays. Athena was sad. "Jane, to shift back, you need to envision yourself as a human," Athena said, giving the ok to shift back. I could tell Athena was sad because her cries for our mate were loud.
