A couple hours later, I finally got to close the store. Well, okay, a few minutes early maybe…so fire me, okay?
After I’d locked the door behind us, Adam and I walked across the parking lot, through the soft pyramids of light cascading down from the overhead floodlights. After we’d passed his big, green SUV, he seemed surprised when he realized which car I was walking toward.
“Holy s**t!” he yelled as we approached my MR-2. “This is your car?”
I grinned and nodded proudly as I unlocked the doors.
“Holy f**k, what a cool car!”
“Thanks,” I muttered. “So, you’re following me this time, right?”
