Clara slowly closed the diary, her fingers still resting on its worn leather cover. No one spoke for several long seconds. Emily's words had raised more questions than they had answered.
Alexander exhaled quietly. "We're not opening the rest." Clara looked at him. "What?" "Not yet."
She frowned slightly. "We've waited this long." "I know." "Then why stop now?" Alexander glanced toward the study door.
"Because Detective Ross is downstairs." Margaret immediately understood. "You think he'll want to see everything."
