Audrey's Pov
I didn't realize when I slept off after crying myself to stupor in the lonely room. It was the bright sun ray penetrating through the hafly opened window on my face that made me realize it was a new morning in my contracted husband's house.
I opened my eyes slowly to adjust to the brightness in the room.
My body ached severely as if I were beaten to bed, due to the series of emotional breakdowns I had yesterday.
I still had my wedding dress on, which was suffocating me, as I didn't sleep with the fan on. I lazily pulled off my gown, and headed to the bathroom.
The bathroom was quite different from the one in my father's house, it was spacious and designed with all the modern facilities and women's toiletries.
“Is he this thoughtful?” I muttered as my eye scanned through the feminine products arranged in the bathroom counter.
I looked at my reflection on the big mirror installed above the washing basins, and my lips quivered.
The girl looking back at me is a mockery of my former self, I don't want to believe my sacrifice was baseless, as it will help me get resources to seek justice for my father's death, and financial security for my mom.
Fate has played a very dangerous game with me and won. I never imagined my life will change drastically within a few months.
I wiped the tears streaming down my eyes, deciding to focus on the positive things I would do with this union.
I turned on the cold water shower, and stood under it, allowing the water to cascade all over my body as I washed off my grief.
I towel dried my body and climbed back to the bed.
I heard footsteps coming towards the door, and I quickly closed my eyes and covered my naked body with the white duvet, pretending to be asleep.
When the door creaked open, his masculine scent hit my nostrils, I felt his weight as he sat beside me on the bed, stroking my hair, he inhaled loudly.
I opened my eyes when I heard the door close.
I wrinkled my eyebrow and rolled my eyes, confused at his kind gesture.
“Suarez, you are still the demon that you are,” I cursed him.
I heard the igniting sound of his car, before I could stretch my neck to look from the window he already drove out.
Thank Goodness he is out, since yesterday that I had been in this house, I didn’t trace another living soul other than us in this large house.
I climbed down from my bed and headed downstairs to take a stroll round the house when I saw a note on the work desk in my room.
It reads, “Good morning Princess, I made pancakes and scrambled eggs for breakfast, please, eat as soon as you wake up.”
My lips parted in disbelief and confusion.
I rushed to the kitchen downstairs to confirm if It was a joke.
I didn't reach the kitchen when I saw my food served on the dining table.
The same man who threatened to wipe out my entire family yesterday is making me breakfast?
“No, I won't eat this food,” I blurted out, carrying the plate, and trashing the content in it.
I made myself a cup of cold tea, drank it, and went back to my room upstairs.
I picked up my phone to call my mom, when I saw forty missed calls from Nicholas, my boyfriend, five missed calls from my mom and ten missed calls from my Aunt.
I opened my w******p and thousands of messages poured in from my boyfriend.
My throat thickened.
How do I face him and tell the sad truth?
I picked up my debit card and dashed out of the house to get something to eat. It was when I arrived at the garage that it clicked in my head that I was no longer at my father's house, and I had not been given access to any car in Suarez's house.
“s**t!”
Another call from Nicholas came, I had to answer this time.
“Are you going to dump like this? After all the time we've spent together?” he asked, immediately I answered his call.
“Nicholas, I can explain, but first, I'm stranded and starved.”
He chuckled.
“But you got married yesterday,” he said in confusion.
Without explaining myself further, I begged him to bring me food. “Please bring me some food, I will send my address,” I pleaded.
He agreed, and I hung up the call, and sent my address via a text.
I waited patiently for Nicholas to bring the food, while I hoped Suarez wouldn't come back home anytime soon.
In no time, I sighted Nicholas' car in front of the gate. My heart beams for joy, I would rather eat his meal, than eat what that demon offered me.
“Please park outside, don't bother driving in, as you will be leaving soonest.” I texted him.
He replied with a thumbs up emoji, and jumped out of his car.
“Can you tell why you abandoned me for another man?” he inquired immediately I opened the gate for him, with seriousness in his voice,
“I didn't leave you for anybody, it’s an eighteen months contract for my father's company to get back together,” I explained
“After which, we will have enough resources to open his murder case.”
He looked at me sadly, and I could see grief in his eyes.
“I have to do this, Nicholas, for my family.” “After eighteen months the contract would expire,” I gave his hand a brief squeeze as we entered the sitting room.
“Tea or coffee?” I asked, trying to make him feel relaxed.
“You,” he answered.
I furrowed my eyebrow in confusion.
“Don't act like you don't understand, Audrey.”
“A last passionate moment with you won't be bad,” he added, winking at me, and licking his lower lips seductively.
“No, please, Nicholas, I'm married,” I said to him softly.
He chuckled.
“Married for business, but you are in love with me, can't you see it? Your body wants me, Audrey,”
“A last time love making isn't bad at all,” he said, moving towards the door, he locked it from inside.
I sighed as I watched walking towards me.
He was right, I missed him badly. Nobody makes love to me like him, he was soft and gentle, and I needed him like never before.
“But, I'm married and this is …….”
“This is our moment, Audrey,” he cut me short, and planted a deep kiss in my lips.
I grabbed his head and kissed him back, he was the antidote I needed.
“Let's go to my room,” I whispered.
He carried me, and we made out while climbing the stairs to my room. We hurriedly pulled off each other's clothes like two hungry lovers, and began the act.
I held the window burglary and my eyes were closed in deep pleasure
as Nicholas f****d me slowly from behind.
A heavy and aggressive knock on the gate brought me back from my ecstasy.
