The Mission

SUAREZ'S POV I smoothly drove into Don Leonard's secret residence. He bought the apartment months ago after he was attacked at his old place. I hated coming to this place, but I had no choice. I have to show up and carry out his orders if I still want my head on my neck. I parked my car in the garage and stepped out of my car. My legs felt heavy with each step I took. The closer I got to his chamber, the faster my heartbeat. I breathed out forcefully before pushing his chamber door open. “Don't tell me her p***y is making you lose your senses,” Don Leonard spat with his left eyebrow raised at me. This was typical of him whenever he was angry and frustrated. He was not a man to be toyed with, but one thing I admired about him was how he always had his demeanor in check when he didn't have things his way, unlike his lover, Emily, who would fret and overreact at any slightest inconvenience. “I'm sorry, boss, I slept off.” “People who want great things out of life don't sleep until they accomplish their mission,” he said coldly. “I'm sorry, boss,” I apologized again. “If you ever miss my call again, be ready to go back to where you belong,” he said with no hint of mercy in his voice. He sniffed his white substances and gritted his teeth. “Go through the back door, and wait for me in the darkroom,” he said to the w***e who was caressing his body before I walked in. “Bring out the planning board,” he ordered me, immediately his w***e left. I opened the underground safe and took out our planning board and hung it on the wall. He brought his marker and marked the column that my marriage to Audrey was written on. “We have to move to the next agenda,” he began. “She is now within our reach, we have to control her going out and coming in. Did she agree to go for a honeymoon with you?” he asked suddenly. “No, boss, she shoved off the idea,” I replied. He smiled briefly. “I love her, she is business-minded, she's not here for fun, and that's how I love it,” he laughed mischievously. “Secret cameras are to be planted in every corner of the house, and our spies will work as her personal maid, chef, and driver,” he continued. “Subsequently, you begin to add overdosed opioids to her food and drinks to get her to lose her memory,” he sipped his whiskey. “Make sure she doesn't get pregnant, and when she eventually falls sick only my doctor is allowed to treat her,” his voice was dry, and lacked emotion, his face cold with a wicked look. “You have six months to carry out this task, while her Aunt deals with her mother, and I will face her father's company, and his remaining workers.” I simply nodded. He finished the remaining whiskey in his glass cup, and sat on his mahogany chair. The room fell into silence as the thought of how I would execute my assignment filled my mind. I wished I had a choice. He cleared his throat loudly, his eyes narrowed at me, as he stared at me with rapt attention, “Your failure at this task is a gateway to hell,” his cold voice resounded in my ear. “Yes, boss,” I nodded in agreement, as I was so certain I would get this task done. I crossed my arms and legs to hide my nervousness. This is not the first time I've been assigned a task like this, but this particular task came with a greater challenge, and deeper emotional connection. “You may leave.” Leonard's voice came through. “Okay boss,” I bowed my head, and left his chamber. The heartache was back again, unease settled in my chest as I entered my car, and drove home with a heavy heart. “You have six months to carry out this task,” his voice replayed in my head. “f**k you, Leonard!* I yelled, hitting my fist on my steering. I arrived at the front of the house, and I was beyond shock to see a new BMW parked in front of the gate. I was going to call Audrey, before I remembered that we hadn't exchanged numbers. “f**k!” I started banging the gate aggressively, loud enough for her to hear. Within a few minutes she came downstairs, dressed in a transparent gown. I could see her pink G-string and red n*****s. They were not just red, they were pointy. I narrowed my eyes, as I stared at her in suspicion. “Did you bring someone to my house?” I asked immediately I stepped into the compound. “N-n-o, no,” she stuttered, her voice cracking. I immediately knew she was not just lying, she was hiding something. I ignored her and made my way to the house. I opened the door and a strong masculine perfume hit my nostrils. “Did you bring a man to my house?” I asked angrily. Her lips twitched, as she shook her head. “It better not be what I'm thinking,” I said, walking towards the stairs when I saw a tall guy in his mid-twenties climbing down the stairs. Pain seized my heart when our gaze met. I never expected Audrey to cheat on me so soon. “Nicholas, I told you to hide. Why did you come out? She yelled. I could feel the fear and panic in her voice. “I came to take what was rightfully mine,” he replied authoritatively. “Little boy, she is mine now, kindly leave before I do something silly,” I warned. “She is not yours, and she will never be. You forcefully took her, and I have come to take her away from you. You demon!” he spat. “Tell your little lover to leave, else……” “Else what? You bad fucker!” he fired back at me. My eyes widened in shock. Did he just call me a bad fucker? “Don't act surprised man, she told me how much of a bad fucker you are, you couldn't even make her c*m,” he said mockingly. I couldn't bear the insult anymore. I brought a gun to shoot him dead, but I wasn't fast enough. He pulled the trigger of his gun and shot me in my arm. “Holy Christ!” Audrey screamed. “One more shot,” he fired another bullet at my right leg. “Survive this if you can,” With his last word, he dragged Audrey away, and they both left the house, leaving me in my pool of blood.
