As Bryan descended the stairs and spotted Tracy sitting at the table, he approached her. As soon as she saw him, her face clouded with worry and embarrassment. She barely glanced at him as he neared. "I'm sorry I didn’t come to meet you," she murmured. “It’s okay,” Bryan said softly, trying to catch her attention. “It’s time to go. Let’s head home.” Before Tracy could respond, her mother suddenly stood up and marched toward Bryan, her face twisted with disdain. “How dare you, Bryan! Who are you to tell her to go home?
