Chapter 24 - Apology to a Friend

621 Words
Bella’s POV The memories of the past were beautiful to recall sometimes, I drank the last of my tea and went to back to my room, I fell on my bed and lay looking at the ceiling, my mind drifted back to the events from yesterday, I had been so vulnerable to the attack on my mind, I barely managed to counter the spell, I was in need of magic training if I was going to go against my enemy who without doubt was extremely powerful, I needed to learn as much as I can or else I will find myself at a disadvantage, I needed Aunt Marla and Ian’s help, I had to become stronger if I was going to be able to protect the people I cared about, that was going to be my mission for now. My mind suddenly went to Danny, I had said was going to call him yesterday when I returned from the hospital but after unexpectedly running into Richard, I was in no frame of mind to have a conversation with Danny, but I couldn’t keep screening his calls, I had to talk to him, I grabbed my phone from on top the drawer by the side of my bed, I turned it and searched Danny’s name, it popped up after a few seconds, I felt a stab of guilt when I saw the number of missed calls he had left me, I had promised him I will tell him everything that was happening in my life, but it turned out that I couldn’t that or he might end up in danger, Taking a deep breath, I dialed his number, it rang for a few seconds before his voice came from the other end, “Look who finally learnt how to use their phones after such a long time” he said, I could tell he was pissed off and well, he had every right to be “Danny……..” I started but ended up stopping again, I had no excuse, the only I could say was that I was sorry and Danny hated it whenever I said I was sorry, I heard him sigh from the other end “It’s okay if you don’t want to talk, I get that all this is difficult to talk about but at least pick up the phone so I know you are doing alright, okay Bella, don’t make me worry about you so much, it drives me crazy when you don’t answer the phone” he said, “I am really sorry Danny” was all I said, I heard him laugh from the other end “You don’t need to sound so down, I haven’t heard from you in days, I missed your laughter, so enough of sounding so down, just pick up the phone when I call and we will be okay” he said, I couldn’t help the smile that crept into my face, Danny always knew how to bring a smile to myself, I guess he was the only anchor I had to sanity and normalcy these days, everything might change but I was sure Danny will never change, he was that kind of all-round good guys that made the world a better place, “Thanks Danny” I said, “Anything for you Bella” Danny said from the other end of the call, After that we proceeded to catch up on things and whatever issue we might have had before was now a matter of the past and it was completely forgotten .
