Chapter 26 - A chat with mother dearest

Bella’s POV

After calling Danny, I decided to call up Aunt Marla, it was weird referring to her as Aunt Marla these days and yet I found it conflicting to call her mum, I still found it all a little hard to believe, it still felt like a dream sometimes,

I wanted to call her and see if she had time to teach me more about magic and spells because I really needed someone to teach and guide me and I needed to start my training as soon as possible, there was no point in wasting time, I never knew when the threat will come so I needed to be ready at all times,

Taking a deep breath, I dialled in Aunt Marla’s phone number, it rang for a few minutes before she finally picked up,

I felt nervous immediately “Hey Bella, I didn’t expect your call” I heard her voice say from the other end of the call,

“I am sorry, I meant to call earlier but different things kept coming up” I said, I was surprised at how timid my voice sounded, I sounded like a little kid in the principal’s office,

Aunt Marla laughed “You don’t have to be so nervous when you are talking to me, just act like you did before if that’s what makes you feel comfortable, I really don’t want anything to change between us, I loved hoe we were before” she said, I could hear how sincere she sounded,

“I am sorry Aunt Marla, all these just needs a little getting used to, I am finding all this a little hard to understand” I said, my voice was a bit louder now,

She laughed again “Don’t worry about anything Bella, I understand what you are going through since I went through the same thing, so you don’t need to worry about anything, just keep treating like you have before, besides I love how our present relationship is, the past one was just to strained” she said,

I laughed as well “I am so glad you understand me” I said,

“So why exactly did you call?” she said,

“Ummm, I was wondering if you had time to teach me some spells, I feel like I really need to work on my spells” I said,

“Sure, you have a lot to learn, your training back then was rather basic but I don’t think we can afford such luxury at this moment in time, you have to learn everything as fast as possible, there is no time to spare" Aunt Marla said,

I knew she was right, I was up against a powerful enemy and I did not have the time to just sit and play around, 

"You are right, can I come over to your place tomorrow?" I said,

"Sure Honey, I will be expecting you and make sure to wear something comfortable" Aunt Marla said,

"Okay, I will be there tomorrow as soon as possible" I said, 

"Bye honey" Aunt Marla said,

"Bye Mother" I said, 

There was silence from the other end then she said "I really look forward to seeing you tomorrow Ara" and then the line went dead before I could reply,

"I look forward to seeing you as well mother" I whispered into the phone.
