Mrs. King’s POV
I sat alone at the breakfast table, waiting or perhaps hoping that my son will join me soon, but I knew it was just wishful thinking, he won’t be joining me, I placed a piece of salad in my mouth and chewed it slowly,
I hated this situation between me and Richard, we had never been close but at least he respected me sincerely and I knew that no matter how stubborn he was, he was always on my side but now, I wasn’t even sure if he respected me at all and he could walk away from me at any time, but I will die before I let happen, I refuse to be left alone again, I had been alone for far too long and I will make sure no one leaves me again,
Richard was the only one I had left and I refuse to allow that girl take him away from me, she won’t take away my precious son, I won’t let her, she was the only to have ever taken his attention away from me and she suffered for it, and nothing was going to change now,
She can’t have Richard, he is the only one I have left and I won’t let her have him, she will die before she came close to him, I will make sure of it.
Just when I was about to give up on the hope that Richard will be joining me, I saw him walk towards the breakfast table, he was already dressed for the office, he sat down and muttered a greeting to me, I nodded my head and turned to him with a smile, I had never been one to show my feelings easily, I had always kept what I felt hidden and so Richard was always very distant from me and now when I was trying desperately to bring him closer to me, he must find it very strange, even now as I smiled at him, he looked at me weirdly, despite all my misgivings, I really loved my son and I wanted him to love me just as much,
“Did you sleep well Richard?” I said,
He merely nodded his head and continued with his food, he was so distant and far away,
I cleared my throat, I was about to say something when I perceived the smell of strong magic, it had the scent of Arabelle’s magic but it had a bit of malice and anger to it and it was all over Richard, I saw red,
“Why do I smell magic on all over you? And worse, its Arabelle’s Magic” my voice wasn’t as calm as I had wanted it to be, it was strained and a little high pitched,
He turned to look at me, he had a question mark on his face, I am sure he was wondering how I knew about Arabelle’s magic, well right now I didn’t care about his questions, I needed to know why Arabelle’s magic that was usually so pure it almost made me want to throw up was stained with malice and anger and most importantly, why was it all over Richard?
Suddenly the sound of silver crashing against ceramic filled the air, I looked down at the table where Richard had thrown his fork into his plate,
“I already gave you your chance mother, I gave you a way where you could be the winner but you threw it away, so you don’t get to ask questions regarding Arabelle anymore, so please stay out of my business mother” he said and stood up from the table,
I was angry, very angry to be precise, not at Richard but at that girl, that Arabelle that had ruined my life, I cursed the day Richard met that girl,
“Good Day mother” Richard said to me and walked away,
I looked down at his plate, he had barely eaten a thing, his coffee remained untouched and I knew how much Richard loved his coffee but today, he hadn’t even taken a single sip because of that woman,
I hate that girl with every fibre of my being and as much as I hate to admit it, I was envious of her, Richard could die for her, he was ready to live the out the rest of his life in misery because of her and I hated that fact with a passion that was so intense it was almost painful, I could never forgive her for stealing Richard from me, never.

Derrick’s POV
I don’t believe there was ever a woman more maddening than my mother, she had the ability to ride my last nerve and made me have thoughts that any child will be disgraced to have towards his mother,
Alfred was waiting for me outside when I got outside “Good morning Sir” he said
“Let’s get the hell out of here” I said and got into the car, I didn’t miss the look of amusement on Alfred’s face as I got in,
He came into shortly after I got into the car “How is the madam doing this morning?” Alfred said, I could hear the amusement in his voice,
“Don’t start with me Alfred” I said,
“Yes Sir” he said but I could see from the side of his face that he was still smiling,
I chuckled softly and ignored him, he was just trying to cheer me up obviously,
“How was the office yesterday?” I asked,
“It was boring, since I had nothing to do at all” he said,
“Then you should have just left” I said as I went through my schedule for the day on the tablet that was always in the back seat of the car, Alfred always put it in there before he came to pick me up, I had two cars, one was for official use and the other was for my personal use and that car was still parked at the bar from yesterday since Langrove had insisted I was in no frame of mind to drive so I had left the car there and I had forgotten all about it until now,
“I did just that, I left by 1O” Alfred said
I raised my head to look at him, he was smiling broadly now “You are becoming a real scoundrel nowadays” I said,
He shrugged his shoulders casually and said “Well my boss isn’t as stuck up as he normally is, so I believe in adapting to present situations”
I smiled and said “I guess I shouldn’t have been so stuck up for so long and maybe we might have been friends”
He shrugged and said “I guess so”
“You need to go that bar I usually go to and get my car later” I said,
“Should I ask why the car is there?” Alfred said,
“Don’t ask, don’t ask at all” I said
