While wiping his oil-stained lips after the meal, Matt asked Jennie about her sister's information.
"I know that your sister's topic is something that can't be touched but still I would like to know about her so that it will be easier to investigate." Matt asked her hesitantly.
"Don't hesitate Matt. Just ask me and I will tell you." Jennie then continued.
"Her name is Natasha Smith."
Matt paled after hearing the name.
Of course, he knew who Natasha Smith is but never in his wildest dreams had he had thought that she will be Jennie's sister. That day has clearly imprinted in his mind. That day was the sole reason why he had never dated anyone till day. But still, he wasn't able to stop himself from falling in love with Jennie. He had braced himself for whatever might happen and never make her become another Natasha. But here he is, loving Natasha's sister.
Crazy thoughts started running in his mind.
"Matt? Matt?" Jennie shook him hard.
"Uhm?" Matt snapped out of his thoughts.
"What are you thinking about?" Jennie asked him.
"Nothing. Just thinking about where to start with the investigations." He replied.
"Alright." She said nodding.
"By the way, thanks for the dinner Matt. I really enjoyed it. It was so fun." Jennie thanked him.
"I think you shouldn't thank me from now on." Matt smiled.
"Yup. Rather I should order you." Jennie said as she laughed.
"Yes, of course. I will be your most loyal servant mi lady." Matt said as he bowed a little.
Jennie laughed and Matt joined her too.
"What next?" Jennie asked holding her stomach after laughing so hard.
"Surprise. Let's go." Matt said as he settled the bill.
Both of them drove in Matt's car with him behind the wheels.
"Where are we going Matt?" Jennie asked curiously.
They were driving in the expressway for an hour but still she didn't know where they were heading to.
"Five more minutes and we will reach there. Be patient my dear." Matt said as he sprinted a bit.
They drove some distance and the car stopped at a place what it looked like woods.
Matt got down and opened the door for her. As she got down, she wondered why were they here.
"We need to walk into it a bit and there, your surprise lies in." Matt said as he held her hands.
"Let's go."
Matt and Jennie walked into the woods for god knows how long and reached the end.
"Come on Matt. You can't play like this. We've been walking for a long time and reached the end of the woods. Only the cliff is remaining and you want us to jump down?" Jennie asked irritatingly.
"Here we are!" Matt replied cheerfully.
There, a camp has been set up in the cliff with some bonfire. The setting was so beautiful. The moon was gracing the sky in its full glory with a lot of twinkling stars accompanying it.
"Oh my God! This is so beautiful!" Jennie exclaimed.
Jennie walked further near the camp and stood to watch the moon. Matt came behind and hugged her.
"Do you like it?" He asked her.
"Like it? I love it Matt! This is just so wow!" She exclaimed. In an excitement, she didn't notice Matt who was hugging her behind.
They stayed in that position in silence.
"When did you set this bonfire and camp?" Jennie asked.
"In the morning." Matt said in low voice.
When his breath fell on her neck did, she realize their proximity. But it felt good. Her heart felt that she is safe here, in his arms. She let her head fall on his shoulders and closed her eyes.
"Feeling happy?" He asked after noticing what she did.
"Hmm… Feeling safe Matt."
After some time, both sat near the bonfire talking about their childhood, school and everything.
"What are you going to do after graduation Matt? You are going to get it done in few months, right?" Jennie asked him.
"Probably I will be pushed into the company Jen. But I think they won't pressurize me much as they did it with Liam. He is going to inherit the position and everything, not me. They will want me to head some part. I don't know. But I'm not interested in these." Matt said.
"What are you interested in Matt?" Jennie then asked him.
"Though I have majored in business and finance, my interest lies in interior design. I have minored in it. Set up a small business, design houses and work just like that." Matt expressed his thoughts on his wishes.
This is the first time Matt has talked to someone about his dreams and ambition.
"I don't want to live in those big mansions, have numerous servants and attend those boring business banquets. I want to run a small business, earn handsomely, own a cozy apartment, have a woman who will be my energy booster, a good friend and a caring wife, have kids, settle in life and be happy, buy a farmhouse at the countryside and spend my old days. That's it, so simple and sweet, yet so difficult for me to do." Matt said.
A rare peace was in his face while talking about his dreams yet sadness and disappointment lied in his eyes. That disappointment is due to the fact that his dreams will never come true.
