Chapter - 3

Jennie walked out of her house. The chauffer who was waiting for her opened the car door as she came out. As soon as she sat inside, the sleek Audi went out of the compound. "Uncle Samuel." Jennie called out for the driver. "Yes Miss Smith." The driver answered. "You may drop me at the Dean's and go back to the mansion. I will call you if needed. I think my friend won't give me the chance to do so." She spoke. Uncle Samuel smiled after hearing her. He has known Jennie since she was born. Though he is just a driver, he is like a father in the shadows for Jennie. When he heard Jennie's words, he understood that her friend is going to be a male. Just like Mr. Smith, he too was worried for her. "Ok missy. If you want me, just know that I'm a phone call away." He spoke. "Yeah uncle. I got it." She spoke. When they reached Dean's, her jaws dropped. There stood Matt in a white shirt and faded blue jeans just like her. He was wearing a cool black sunglass and leaning on a black Bugatti Veyron. He was a sight to be drooled over. Girls out there were gushing on him while men just thought that his luck was better than theirs. Jennie slowly alighted from the car and waved to Uncle Samuel. She then slowly walked towards Matt who was talking to someone on phone. "Hey!" Jennie called him. "Oh, Hi!" Matt said. For one second, he felt dumbstruck. He knew that the dress wear he gave her was too simple and even so he did it because he wanted to. But never in his wildest dreams did he thought that she would look so hot and sexy in just a pair of shirt and jeans. Clearing his throat, he gave his hand for her to hold. Jennie held his hand and they walked towards the restaurant. "Oh my god! He looks so hot!" One exclaimed. "Sadly, he is not ours." Another said sorrowfully. "Why does good looking men are not available for people like us? So unlucky!" Another chirped in. "We need to be born in families that feed us with silver spoon at least. Look at him, he has definitely born with a golden spoon. And she looks not less than that. Perhaps people call this as fate." Another silently said. Everyone agreed with that. The couple then slowly moved in to the restaurant. "Welcome! How may I help you?" The receptionist asked. She was looking like a kind lady in her thirties. "Uhm… I have reserved a table for two in the name Carter." Matt said slowly. The lady looked up in astonishment. She had seen Carters visiting this restaurant but not this man. "Sorry?" She asked again. "I have reserved a table under the name Carter, miss. Matthew Carter." He said calmly. "Oh! One second mister." She said and checked the records. Matt has never been the face of Carter Industries. It has always been his elder brother Liam who represents them after his father. It is okay for him to not to be recognized. He usually reserves tables at restaurants with his pseudonym MC. This is the first time he used his family name because the Dean's said they don't have any tables today. Only when he said that he is a Carter did he got a table. "This way Mr. Carter." The receptionist then said and led the way to the furthest corner of the restaurant. Dean's is a popular restaurant among the people in the high society. It is the destination for dates, dinners, parties and business meetings that people would ever think of at first. The restaurant has been decorated with beautiful paintings and different kinds of lightings were decorating the place. "Have a good day Sir!" The receptionist said and left. "Good evening Mister and Miss. I will be the person in service for you." The waiter then came forward and spoke. "Good evening to you too, Mister Waiter." Jennie said. Matt just chuckled. The waiter was shocked to hear someone wishing him. "Uhm… Here is your menu card. What would you prefer for drinks ma'am?" The waiter handed over two menu cards to each other and asked. "I would like to have some red wine. You Jen?" Matt asked her. "Hmm… I would prefer the same. Bring a bottle of red wine with two glasses for us. But before that can I get a cup of warm water?" Jennie asked the waiter. "Yeah, sure ma'am. Just a minute." He said and left for getting wine. "Poor man! Your kindness shocked him." Matt said chuckling. "Is it?" Jennie asked innocently. Matt smiled looking at her innocent face. "You know, you look so cute and innocent that actually makes me to have some weird thoughts on you." Matt simply said. "Weird thoughts? What kind of weird thoughts?" Jennie asked him. "Hmm… Like holding your hands… Like hugging you tight… Like kissing you till you are breathless… Like…" "Stop it!" Jennie interrupted him. She knew what he was going to say next. "Holding hands and hugging tight is okay. Even kissing is okay too. But not whatever you are going to say next." She spoke in a hurry without realizing what she said just now. "Whatever I am going to say next? I was just about say that I want to pinch that red cheeks of yours. What are you thinking about?" Matt asked innocently. Jennie was shocked to hear about it. She felt that her mind is getting way more ahead. How shameless! Her face was looking so red. Matt smirked after seeing her reaction. He just wanted to laugh aloud but kept himself together so that she won't feel embarrassed. "Don't worry. We won't do anything without your consent." Matt added. Jennie felt like she wanted to dig a hole and get buried there. Thankfully, the waiter returned with the wine.
