The farm gate swung open, letting out a young girl in her mid-teens. Like every morning, Deirane was going to the river to fetch water for their meal. For her sisters it was a chore, but not for her. She even enjoyed doing it. Not lifting and carrying two heavy buckets full of water, of course. Especially when the contents might burn her skin if she spilled it on herself.
