I sigh, grudgingly placing one foot in front of the other. My foot tangles on a wrangling root and I stagger forward, bumping into Alec's sturdy back. He doesn't move or grunt, he just stands, scanning the entire expanse.
“Are you sure we haven't passed this place before? The tree looks very familiar and I'm sure we saw it a while back,” I state, frustration beginning to seep into my voice.
