Daddy was right. I did stay nice and dry beneath the protected overhang of the spruce trees where he asked me to wait. But the rain was so relentless and dense, it prevented me from seeing where he went. He told me to stay put but my worry overruled his orders, and made me venture out from the under the branches to see if I could spot him and watch as he crossed the river.
