Winston had seemingly anticipated Selena's concern and smiled reassuringly, "No matter how erratic Chester might be, he wouldn't involve his sister in something illegal. It was Miranda who took Yuris, and several teachers can attest to this. If anything happens, Miranda will be the prime suspect. They're just trying to distract me with Yuris, but they won't actually harm her."
Selena was momentarily surprised, realizing she'd overlooked the connection between Chester and Miranda. Still, she looked intently at Winston and said, "In the future, if something like this happens again, promise you'll save our daughter first."
