Chapter 3

"Shut up, all of you!" Winston stood up suddenly, unleashing a terrifyingly murderous aura as his eyes turned blood-red. Everything around him grew cold, causing all those at the gathering to feel a bone-chilling chill and even a faint scent of blood as if he had brought it from a distant place. Everyone stared at Winston in shock. One second, two seconds... After a brief moment of horror and shock, Miranda realized that this was her family's turf. Why should she be afraid of him? He was just a useless lunatic! "You freak, what are you doing? If you scare my son, I'll make your entire family pay for this!" Winston clenched his fists tightly, his nails digging into his flesh as he struggled to suppress his murderous thoughts. He gritted his teeth, "For Selena's sake, I'll give you a chance. Apologize to my wife and daughter! Bow to them!" The villa fell silent for a moment, then erupted in uproarious laughter. "Hahaha, did I hear that right? You want us to bow and apologize?" "Haha, you are indeed a lunatic. Did you even think before speaking? You three should be the ones bowing and apologizing for hurting my son." "Haha, don't provoke him too much. He's a lunatic. If he goes crazy and kills someone, he won't have to go to jail." "Haha, we're so scared." Winston's eyes flashed with a cold light. His murderous aura was on the verge of going out of control! These people had bullied his daughter and wife and now showed no remorse! "Grandpa!" At this moment, Selena looked up suddenly, her eyes filled with hope. She pleaded as she looked at the Carters head, Sam Carter, in the crowd. "You are the head of the family. You saw what happened just now. Please, give us justice! It was Allen and the other kids who bullied Yuris. It wasn't Yuris' fault!" Sam's face got cold. He showed no sign of compassion upon hearing this; he merely snorted with a stern face. In his eyes, even saying a word to Selena disgusted him, let alone discussing the bastard child who almost brought unimaginable shame to the Carters! Selena's uncle, Michael Carter, stepped forward suddenly. He was Allen's grandfather, and he sneered, "Justice? If you knock down my grandson, you should be punished. Useless people should know their place. Letting you attend this birthday party is already a kindness. Instead of being grateful, you cause trouble and disgrace us. Now you dare to ask for justice?! Do you want me to throw your whole family out?" "Bow down and apologize to my grandson, and I might spare you. Otherwise, I'll break all your legs today. You'll bow whether you want to or not!" "Grandpa..." Selena was losing hope, and despair was written all over her face as she spoke instinctively. At that moment, Winston stepped forward, shielding Selena and her daughter behind him. His eyes narrowed, and his last shred of patience disappeared! "Carters! I gave you all a chance! Remember that; I hope you never regret it!" He had given them a chance. Since they refused, they couldn't blame him! "You're right. When lunatics kill people, it'll be considered an accident; they won't bear criminal responsibility!" As soon as he finished speaking, Winston appeared in front of Miranda. Miranda was startled, feeling a great sense of danger. Her whole body trembled. "bastard, what are you going to..." Smack! Winston slapped Miranda hard across the face! A bright red handprint appeared on her face, smearing her makeup. She was sent flying to the ground. "This slap is for my daughter!" Bang! Before Miranda could react, Winston followed up with a kick, making her roll on the ground several times. "This kick is for my wife!" Boom! The Carters were all stunned. 'How dare Winston hit Miranda? Has he gone utterly mad?' "Winston, you f*****g freak! Bodyguards! Where are the bodyguards? Get over here and take him down! No... beat him to death!" Michael shouted angrily. As soon as he said this, there was a clamor of footsteps. The Carters' private bodyguards arrived. More than twenty of them surrounded Winston, Selena, and Yuris. Winston stood motionless without changing his expression. His aura was overwhelming. The cold, murderous aura like a demon from hell! To him, these twenty or so useless bodyguards were nothing. Even if another twenty came, he could still knock them down! Five days ago, facing the world's eight legendary generals at the border, he still won the fight. What could the insignificant Carters do to him? If he so wished, the Carters would be doomed! "Attack!" At Sam's command, the bodyguards rushed forward. Winston didn't retreat but advanced directly into the bodyguards. Bang! Bang! Bang! Amidst the sounds of intense clashes, all twenty bodyguards were knocked down! Winston moved so quickly that no one could see him. But everyone now knew that he was unstoppable and invincible. In less than a minute, all the bodyguards were on the ground, their fate unknown. Winston's clothes remained spotless as he walked towards the Carters like Satan. Thud! The Carters all took a step back simultaneously. Their faces were filled with shock and fear as if they were facing an army instead of one man. "Who else? Who else wants to try and kill me?!" Winston roared angrily. The Carters fell silent, no one dared answer. Selena was stunned. 'Is this Winston? The mentally ill husband who abandoned me six years ago? How could this be? A lunatic shouldn't have such immense strength! What has he been doing these past six years?' The fear on the Carters' faces was a sight to behold. Selena had never seen them so afraid; they were terrified! At this moment, she felt an unprecedented sense of security, as if Winston's arms had created a haven for her and her daughter, shielding them from all harm. Meanwhile, Yuris clung to Selena, looking at Winston with utmost admiration and happily asking, "Mommy, is that Daddy? Is he my daddy? Daddy is amazing! Daddy is back! He's back!" The air seemed to freeze as Winston's presence dominated his surroundings. Just then, a deep voice came from the doorway. "What are you doing here?" As the voice fell, an elderly man in a police uniform walked in, his expression stern and dignified. Four other policemen followed behind him. The Carters were startled, and then snapping out of their shock immediately. They couldn't believe how much this lunatic had terrified them. Looking at the elderly man again, they were stunned once more. He was no ordinary man, but Quentin Harper, the police chief in Riverside City. Michael, Allen's grandfather, who realized that he couldn't avenge his grandson, was especially troubled. Now that the police had arrived, he could only glare at Winston angrily and resentfully, then rushed to greet him, "Chief Harper, what brings you here?" "Chief, glad you came! We have a violent criminal here! He's been assaulting many members of our family!" Miranda, her face all swollen, was being supported by two servants as she spoke viciously. Seeing this, Michael pointed at Winston and echoed, "Chief, my daughter is talking about this lunatic! Arrest him! He's been assaulting our family. Look at all the bodyguards on the ground and what he did to my daughter... He did this on purpose! It's basically attempted murder; he must be arrested and sentenced!" "Yes, arrest him and lock him up in prison!" "And make him pay for the medical bills!" The Carters, feeling like they had found support, all pointed at Winston and started complaining to Quentin. "Hmph, aren't you tough? Let's see if you dare to hit the police! You'll be put in jail forever and will never see this b***h and her bastard daughter again?" The Carters were full of hope. The thought of Winston being taken away filled them with vengeful satisfaction. The Carters were eagerly waiting, hoping that Quentin would arrest Winston and, ideally, sentence the entire family. However, Quentin spoke, "I am here to present a medal of honor to Mr. Drake."
