Chapter 7: Barish Wali Raat
It was raining heavily. Amna was stuck in office because she missed the last bus.
She sat at her desk, watching the rain hit the window. No umbrella. No ride.
At 9 PM, the office door opened. It was Arham.
"What are you still doing here?" he asked.
"Bus miss ho gayi, sir," Amna said quietly.
Arham looked at the rain outside. Then he sighed. "Come on."
"In my car?" Amna was shocked.
"Do you want to sleep here?" Arham said, already walking out.
In the car, it was silent except for the rain. Arham drove slowly.
"You work too hard," he said suddenly.
"Someone has to," Amna replied.
Arham glanced at her. "For what? For me?"
Amna looked down. "For myself."
There was another long silence. Then Arham stopped the car near her street.
"Here," he said, handing her his black umbrella. "Keep it."
Amna took it. "Thank you, sir."
As she got out, Arham rolled down the window.
"Amna," he called.
She turned.
"Be careful," he said softly. Then he drove away.
Amna stood in the rain, holding his umbrella, heart beating fast.
The cold CEO had a soft side.
And she was starting to like it too much.
