~POV CASSIUS~
"Dad flying around all day is starting to get boring," I said, annoyed, looking over to my father.
As much as I enjoy spending time with my father, the most he ever wants to do is train to become stronger or fly around and help people. Unfortunately, when he's not doing either of those things, he is exceptionally busy wooing every woman he lays his crimson red eyes on. I only wish I had his confidence sometimes to talk to women, but sadly, I have my mother to thank for my timid, shy behavior. Sometimes, I wonder how they even got along long enough to have me. It must have something to do with the fact that my mother is a high priestess to a literal goddess of love.
"Soon, I want to find a nice spot to stop for a bite." he looks at me smiling/smirking
He always had a smirk on his face, a very distinct one that always made you wonder what could possibly be going on in his head. Lucky for me, I have telepathic powers, and I don't have to try too hard. Something I got from both of my parents. My father, however, got the ability from his father and mother.
"Can't we just pick somewhere to land already? I'm getting tired," a lie. I hardly ever get tired. All the training he put me through had hardened most of my weaknesses, like fatigue and registering pain. I can still feel pain, but it takes a lot to get me to that point and boy does he love to get me there. Then again, if he didn't, I wouldn't be as strong as I was. I smile. Being the son of a Tri Race has its perks.
"Alright, let's land on that mountain over there and see if we can catch some fish for dinner," he says as he flies over to it.
"Okay," I smiled and sped past him, making it to the mountain before him. It's kind of awkward for a mountain of this size to be in the middle of the ocean like this, but oh well. As I land with my super powerful hearing, I can hear the sounds almost like alarms. I looked around confused as to where they could be coming from.
"What is that?" I say as my father lands next to me, looking at the mountain.
"It's coming from in there" he points at it.
"Are you sure?" I question him, something I do a lot and most of the time he hates it.
He nods "I'm pretty sure my hearing is nearly 10 times better than yours, kid."
I roll my eyes, hating it when he calls me kid. That's what I get, I guess, for questioning him. I looked around the mountain, trying to figure out exactly how we were supposed to find out where the alarms were even coming from. I look and see dad smirking again, realizing he had just heard my thoughts. He flies up and holds his hand out, looking down at me.
"Get out of the way kid."
"Dad, wait, what if that isn't a good idea?"
"And what if it is? Now move!"
I sigh and move out of the way, watching as he powers up a ki blast and fires it at the mountain. Strangely, it's not a crumbling sound like you'd think a blasted mountain would sound; it's a breaking sound, like glass shattering. When the dust finally clears, I stared in awe. I couldn't believe it, it was a hole inside the mountain, but it wasn't a mountain. It was a kind of shield. The alarms weren't exactly blaring, but we could clearly hear them, and it was all coming from this pearl castle, and I mean an actual castle. I've never seen a castle that wasn't run down and in ruins or just for show, but this one looked brand new. And not only that, from where me and dad stood I could see an entire village. The mountain was covering an entire island from the world.
"Well, that's a new one for me" he looks at me and smirks. "Still bored about flying around in the middle of nowhere?" I look at him "Did you know this was here?" He smiled at me and flew in, and I can hear his thoughts. "I may have sensed the power levels here about 20 minutes ago"
We both land in some kind of clearing away from the village. If I didn't know we were on an island, I'd think we were in a lush tropical forest with how dense the woods were around us. I looked up confused. "How could it be with a shield covering the island?" Then I see it. I kind of stare from the inside of the shield. It was completely transparent. You could see everything, the sky, the sun, all of it. I could hear my dad. "That's smart. They would be hidden away from the world." I think back, "why would they want to be hidden and how in the world did they make it look like a mountain on the outside?" He smirked at me, "let's find out." He leads the way, and I follow close behind, keeping vigilant. Another thing that was drilled into my head at a very young age.
We walked through the densely forested area for a few minutes before coming out into the village. There were several people looking up at the hole in their shield. None of them hardly even noticed we had walked out until one did, and they screamed, which made the rest of them look and also scream. Some of them screamed for some guards. When that happened, these massive men walked up to us with spears pointed at us in a unified battle stance.
"For some big guards there sure ain't much to them, is there?", my dad asks me as they walked up. But he was right. Sensing their power levels, they were higher than normal humans, significantly higher than a normal human, but not nearly high enough to take us.
I put my hands up in a surrendering kind of manner. With all the training my dad gave me, the last thing I wanted to do was use unnecessary force on people that was, for all they knew, were just some invaders here to kill the queen and princess of this island, which is exactly what the majority of the men in front of us were thinking. My dad looked at me like I had 3 heads.
"What are you doing?" he asks. "There's no point in fighting them. You could knock most of them out just by using your tail" I say back, motioning to the tail firmly wrapped around his waist. A feature he got from his mother being she was a demon and a Saiyan. I got the same features. Mine was also wrapped around my waist. Something else that was drilled into my head. I think back on the lesson, my dad had gotten behind me and grabbed my tail, squeezing and yanking hard enough to physically impair me. That day, the lesson was to train our tails not to be our weakness, something he'd taught himself a long time before I was even thought of, before he had ever even met my mother.
The guards standing in front of us looked as ready as they could for a fight they were not prepared for, and I wasn't going to be the one to throw the first punch. From the back, I could hear a woman's voice telling the guards to move aside. Eventually, they all part and she makes her way to the front. I have to admit, I was kind of taken aback. She was pretty stunning, but she was different. The woman that stood in front of us had an even more significant power level than the others. She was obviously strong. She stood at about 5'9" and roughly 130 maybe 140; I couldn't exactly tell she was wearing a long, flowing blue dress almost like one of those long ball gowns you'd see the snooty people wear. She had long blue hair to match, reaching to what I could guess mid-thigh and blue eyes to match. In contrast to all the blue this woman wore, her skin was the brightest red I have ever seen, almost a hot pink color, but more red. I've never seen someone with red skin that wasn't a demon, but from what I could tell, this woman was no demon.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?". Her voice was booming. She was definitely someone with authority over these people. My father got that all-too well-known smirk on his face and I rolled my eyes, already knowing the outcome of it.
"I could be whoever you'd like me to be, babe" He shot her that smirk that I have seen at least 100 different women fall over themselves for, and I expected this woman to do no different, but to mine and my father's surprise she didn't even blink an eye.
"I won't ask again, answer the question or my guards will be ordered to attack." When she said that, I could only assume this woman was the queen the soldiers were thinking about. I had to speak up before my father had the chance to dig us into a hole deeper than the one he'd already gotten us into.
"I'm Cassius and this is Mazuko, my father. We didn't mean anyone any harm. We had landed on your shield to grab us a fish to eat. We thought it was a mountain. When we heard the alarms, we were just trying to investigate where they were coming from." I'm kind of frantic with my words, not wanting to give my father the chance to butt in like he loves to do. The woman looked at me like she was trying to measure me up, deciding if I was telling the truth or not. "I swear we had no idea this place was even here."
She looked from me to my father then back to me. "You will both follow me. We shall see what the queen decides to do with you intruders". I started to say something, but this time my father had beaten me to it.
"I'll follow you anywhere you'd like, babe, as long as we can make a slight detour to your room."
"There won't be" and with that she starts walking. The soldiers aim their spears at us, one of them shouting for us to move. My father and I didn't have to listen to them. We could have just flown out of there. I didn't want to be a problem to these people, but for my father, this was something different. This woman had flat out rejected him from the second he opened his mouth. My father would never do anything he wasn't given 100% consent from a woman to do. But if there was one thing I've learned about my father, it's that he likes a challenge. That's why I'm sure he was so eager to follow wherever this woman was taking us now, which was right up to that massive castle I'd seen when we first saw the glimpse of this new world hidden far in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea.
I thought to myself, "if this woman isn't the queen, who is she?"
"My name is Deanna. I am the queen's royal adviser." I stared at her, realizing, for the first time, it wasn't just me and my father on this planet that could read each other's minds.
