As we continued to follow behind Deanna, we walked up a simple stone staircase towards the castle. When we reached the top, we were standing in a magnificent courtyard with floral decor all around. I could hear the sounds of running water and when I looked, I saw a white marble fountain in the center of the courtyard. I would be lying if I said that is what had caught my attention.
Sitting on the edge of the fountain was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen in my entire life. From where I was standing, I could see her half tied up, long wavy chestnut brown hair that reached to the middle of her back. Her skin was just lightly sun-kissed as it almost glowed in the rays of the sun, just slightly to the east of us. She was leaning over with her hand moving around in the water of the fountain that added a glint of light to her already glowing features. She was wearing a yellow sundress that fitted to her body perfectly. I didn't even realize how my eyes had started lingering over her until I caught myself thinking about how soft and volumptious her body looked, blinking when I heard the woman Deanna speak.
"Princess, what are you doing away from your studies?" This girl was the princess!?
Looking back, she pulled her hand away from the fountain and stood looking at Deanna. Her deep blue eyes were the same color as the ocean this island sat on. When she smiled, I even felt my heart skip a beat or two and when she finally spoke, her voice sounded like a melody that only the sweetest morning bird could make. "Deanna! I didn't think you were going to come back so soon. I was just getting some fresh air is all", her eyes looked at me for only a second. But in that second, I swore time froze and all I wanted to do was fall into the blue of those eyes.
"You need to finish your studies soon. Prince Nikolaus will be here this evening for dinner per the queen's request to discuss the matters of your betrothal with his father. During that time she wishes for you to entertain the prince and show him the island."
I was so lost in the sight of her that I almost didn't hear what Deanna was saying, and then it finally hit me "betrothel", looking at Deanna and the princess "she's going to be married to some prince! this beautiful girl that has completely captivated me" all of a sudden the once bright world I imagined myself in for only a few moments seemed to slip away into a dark and lonely empty space that I had no idea I could have ever imagined myself in.
I was so lost in thought my father had to grab me by the shoulder kind of hard to bring me back to the real world, where Deanna had continued walking and told us to follow her once again. "Dad, why are we even following this woman? We could just leave now. We don't have to listen to these people." I thought in my head, looking over at him. His eyes were plastered to the red woman leading the way. "Nah, lets stick around a little longer. I want to find out why these people feel like they need to hide." I rolled my eyes a bit at his response.
She led us inside the castle and to the throne room. The entire castle was decorated in different variations of blue mostly, the light colored ones and white marble lined the walls. I could hear my dad comment out loud "Well, I see someone is dead set on their favorite color." Deanna doesn't even pay him any mind whatsoever as we walked inside and I could hear another soft, sweet voice. This one sounded a little older, though. Looking up, I can see a woman sitting in a chair talking to a boy. She looked similar to princess, but there was something about her that slightly dulled her features. Maybe she has been queen? I didnt have to wonder on that question for long when Deanna finally spoke.
"My queen, we have brought the intruders that damaged our shield." Deanna spoke up very clearly. The queen broke her gaze from the boy looking in our direction going from my father to me and back again. She stood from her chair and came down to stand in front of us but still at a distance. "Why have you come here and what is it you want?"
My father chimes in. "Like my son told to your sexy royal adviser, we weren't trying to tear anything up we heard the alarms we were curious where they were coming from, simple as that. If it's that big of a deal, we can always fix it. It's not that hard."
The queen looked at him unamused. "Fix it? It could take weeks to fix what you have destroyed. How do you possibly expect to fix it?"
He shrugs. "It's pretty simple when your best friends with gods." He smirks, looking over at Deanna.
The queen looked utterly confused. "Friends with gods?"
My father gave his signature smirk. "Well yeah, why wouldn't I be? I am the legendary Tri Race after all" When he said that, the two women in front of us seemed to freeze in disbelief. The queen was finally the one that broke the silence. "A Tri Race?" My father shrugged again. "Yeah, I mean, it's no big deal. I get it if you ladies still want to be sore about this whole thing. I can see how my dearest friend Chao, God of chaos, might feel about this whole thing?" Deanna stepped in closer. "Do you really expect us to believe you? There is only one Tri Race to every timeline and he or she may not even know that they are the designated Tri Race." My father smirked "Well I am and I can prove it I even learned how to cancel out all of my races so only one fronts above all the others." Deanna looked as if she wasn't believing a word, but the queen was looking intrigued. "Do you mind showing us?" the queen asks. He smiled. "To a beautiful woman like you, of course not." My father's transformations take some focus but not much since he's practiced this almost his entire life. In a blink of an eye, his body changes from what he normally looks like, which is black and white hair that reaches to his chin to just straight black hair. His eyes change from the crimson red to a dark brown. His tail that he keeps wrapped around his waist, just like I do, vanishes from existence indicating the race that he has fronted is his human side. He transforms again, his hair stays black but slightly spiked in the back, his tail reappears, and his eyes go straight black, indicating the fronted race is now his saiyan side. Lastly, his eyes turn the crimson red, his hair turns straight black, and there is a dark red misty aura around him, his tail, one that was covered in brown fur, is now slick with a spike at the end, indicating his final race, his demon. With that he goes back to normal, red eyes, black and white hair, and Saiyan tail.
The queen and Deanna are both mesmerized. Deanna looks like she might pass out. The queen eventually smiles brightly at my father. "By the gods, it is you! I can't believe it in all my life I never thought I'd live to see the day that a Tri Race visits Atlantis!"
I blink, once hearing her words and look at her. "Atlantis?" She nods to me. "As in the lost sunken city of Atlantis?" She smiles at me. "Not always sunken, but yes, this wonderful island you find yourself standing on is Atlantis. We have worked very hard to keep it hidden from the outside world." She smiles brightly. "Of course, it would only be the fabled Tri Race and their offspring that would be the ones to finally find us. Please forgive us for our rudeness." The queen gives a graceful curtesy.
My father bows and smiles "Eh, forget about it." He laughs. "I'd be a little sour about two devilishly handsome guys just dropping in unannounced too." He smirks. "I'd much rather it be you two lovely ladies any day." At that the queen gave a slight giggle but Deanna just looked annoyed at every word.
"Well, in any case, you are both welcome. I am queen Caitlyna."
I bow to her. "I'm Cassius and my dad is Mazuko"
She smiles brightly at us. "Wonderful names, indeed. The origins of those names derive from royal demons, am I right?"
I smile. "Yeah, that's right. Not many people know that."
She smiles. "Well, I like to pride myself on remembering most of my studies I was forced to attend." She giggled lightly to herself. "Oh, this is a wondrous occasion. We are having a feast tonight to celebrate the coming union of my daughter and a prince of a nearby clan, you both should attend! My daughter is just fascinated by the legend of the Tri Race and their ability to become strong enough to even battle against gods themselves. She is also incredibly fascinated by the gods themselves. She may have many questions to ask you about your dear friend Chao."
I look at the queen and look at my father. "Accept. It would be rude not to, the least we could do is stick around long enough to fix their shield." I think to him. He looks at me and smirks. "You just want to stick around hoping to see that little princess again." I blush. I'd be lying if I didn't get a little excited over the thought of properly introducing myself to the princess and not accompanied by her armed guards. "Just shut up and accept. We can eat, fix the shield, and leave and forget all about this place." The queen's smile begins to falter as she stands there waiting for an answer. "If I made you feel like you are inclined to accept..." She doesn't even get to finish her scentance before my father stops her and smirks. "Anyone that would reject you would be an i***t. Of course we'll stay and feast with you, and if you would allow us asylum for the coming days to have a chance to fix your shield, I would greatly appiciate it." The queen blinks a bit taken aback by the sofisticatedness of my fathers words, not only the queen but also Deanna, which is exactly what I think he was going for.
The queen smiles brightly. "Absolutely. I will see to it you and your son have quarters in the castle that you may reside in until you wish to depart." She looks to Deanna. "Deanna, please escort our guests to the king's chambers." Deanna looked as if she wanted to protest, but decided against it, sighing softly to herself and bows. "As you wish, Queen Caitlyna." With that, she looks to us. "Please, follow me."
