Chapter 29

Gwen 

"What?!" I was shocked hearing to death.

"This is the truth." Grandpa said and I looked at him with disbelief.

"And my mother, she is your daughter right?" I asked with a hope the answer would be yes but they shook  their head and one thing that confirmed me is that there is a chance that I am really Mr. Jefferson's niece. "Then how is she related to you?"

"Well we were completing studies when we found Lina. She was unconscious in someone's car and we didn't really notice until I saw the bruise on her hand and other part and that had alerted me as the car wasn't really having someone, so I break through the car and get Lina out of there and we hurriedly ran to the police agency and reported and when she woke up, she told us that she is from America but she can't really tell where she was from, so we kept her and when our family found about her, they weren't really so much happy about that. And we didn't really thought over this as we thought that as the times will pass  they will eventually love her but we were wrong and when we weren't at home they used to misbehave with her and when we found out about that we quickly left that place and took an apartment in Milan and she also started to go school and at that time we also got married and soon we also wanted to have a child of our own but soon enough we found that we can't have a baby and this have bothered us a bit but it was soon recover seeing Lina in our home who used to call us mom and dad and we thought that maybe god knew this before and that is why he had sent Lina to us and then we always used to shower our love on us and she was also very about this but we never really had  any clue where in America she used to live. When Lina turned fifteen I opened my own restaurant and it went pretty well which made our empire spread. 

By the time when Lina entered in the university she met your father who was teaching that university after graduating from that university and that too was recently but no one really know after work where he went and we don't really know how he had got the attention of Lina who was so much focus on her studies only, suddenly come and tell us that she had found a man whom she wants to marry and after a week of her declaration we met your father and he was charming enough but I wasn't really really ready to Lina go and we tried to make her understand this but she didn't really understand until she found that Mike was already having a baby girl and that was Avelyn. She was around one and half month and she wanted to break up with him but then she didn't and told us that she is okay with his first child and as she loves him so much than she is ready to accept his world but who knew that Avelyn's mother never will make them get married at any cost. After one month, Lina found that she was pregnant with you and she was very happy about it. Her happiness was worrying us somewhere but we were also happy for her until she told everything to Mike and he was also happy about this. But Avelyn's mother Jackie wasn't. Lina and Mike were ready to tie with each other but that never happened as after a week of the finalization of the marriage date, Mike was no where to be found. Wedding was cancelled and after three months he returned and told Lina that he will marry her, we had warn her about this but she didn't really heard us and believed his words instead and once again the wedding preparation started. 

Everything was going good, Lina had found her wedding dress and Mike was also ready to get married but in the upcoming month on her wedding day she fall and we have to take her to the hospital and she was feeling so much pain, so she was sent directly to the emergency room and after few minutes Mike also reached there and asked about her condition but we were silent at that moment he fall back on the chair and was blank and after many hours doctor came out and declare that a daughter is born and Mike came to live after many hours but who knew that along with it bad news will also come and that was that your mother loose so much blood that is why she couldn't survive and  wasn't even lucky enough to see you. Mike was speechless and after few minutes nurse come out from the room while she was holding you and Mike was the first one to take action and he took you in his arms while you were crying and maybe that was the most beautiful thing for all of us but as you were pre mature baby so you have to be stayed in the incubator though you were doing well but Mike didn't agree to this and doctor didn't really forces him. He was lost in you but after few minutes he started to cry. For the first time he was crying as his friend said. 

After that day, Mike kept you with him only and we were together with him to take care of you. We had buried Lina in her wedding dress only and that was the hardest moment for us because we wanted to send her to other house in that dress but she was going to the heaven in that dress. Mike was holding you in his arms and was looking at Lina's grave motionless and after that day he used to take care of her more than anything and he ignored Avelyn for couple of moths until his mother put some senses in him and made him realize his mistake and he took care both of you after winning the custody of her from her mother and after years we heard that Jackie is also dead after consuming drugs in the large quantity. and when you were five years old, then Mike found that he was having a cancer and that too in the last stage and he only has few months to live but anyhow he had lived with you three more years and eventually he also left and you were left with us for few months and Avelyn was with her grandparents specifically with Mike's parents. But after that your aunt and uncle drop by and said that they want them to stay with them and we didn't really stopped them because this was the only way through which you can connected to your half sister. And this all that we know." Grandpa told me the whole story and I don't really know what I should do. I am feeling as if I am left with no emotion which could define what I am going through. Suddenly out of nowhere I burst into tears.

"Gwen don't cry honey. Maybe you have to know this today or tomorrow about your true life." Grandma said and I looked at her and hugged her and cried in her arms. 

"Grandma why I am not the lucky one to have both my parents?"

"Honey don't say that. Maybe they are not with you but you still have us and we will be with you till death apart us. We are already suffering from Lina's death and now I can't see you suffering. Don't worry happiness will soon knock on your door." I nodded but I didn't let go of her and stayed in her arms for a bit. I think if I didn't know this today then it would have hurt me more if I had heard this from someone else. Maybe now I have to move on from my past and now I have to meet Mr. Jefferson and tell him everything as well. Now I have to fight through this situations even if someone is with me or not.
