Strange Proposal Maurice's POV “Are you upset?” Maybe it was the long bothering silence that tipped him off. I'm not upset. I'm just… embarrassed. At the time the embarrassment was immense, in me and him. I could have hidden as a child may have; I could’ve just turned to look at the other side of the road.
