Chapter 2 Milan, January 30, 1927 Color: Light sky blue Music: Barcarolo romano (Balzani - Pizzicaria) Leaving to go to the doctor's, I take a quick look at myself in the hall mirror. It is actually a cabinet with a very tall mirror, which allows me to see my full figure, including my shoes. At the bottom right is a compartment closed by a flap, where I have stuffed a few purses so I can pick them out on the fly as I leave. To the left is a boiserie panel with a hat shelf, where Dad displays his favorite Borsalinos and, at his feet, a short, dark leather upholstered bench where he lays the Corriere della Sera, as soon as he gets home, so that I can easily find it when I feel like reading it.
