We left the pack and moved through the forest toward the next one. By nightfall we set up camp without a fire, staying in wolf form to keep warm. Ethan stayed close, but sleep didn’t come easy. Visions of Ryker kept dragging me under, and each time I woke, it felt too real. The following morning we got up early and a couple of the warriors went out into the forest to hunt us down some breakfast, and once we finished eating that we started on to the next pack. It didn’t take us too long to get there once we got started and when we got to the next pack, the patrols were just as eager to have us there as the last ones were. They took us through the forest to the packhouse and the Alpha was waiting for us on the stairs. A middle aged man looking really haggard, very down, almost defeated.
