When they lived in town, I relied on them a lot. Even after all these years.” “That’s understandable, I guess.” Megan remained by the door, and he realized she was waiting for an invitation to enter. He’d been somewhat protective of his bedroom. It was his space. The only time she’d come in without waiting for permission was when he was sick. Even then, Megan had been cautious.
