“M-my n-necklace.” Aria stuttered as Lucas threw the remainder of the damaged necklace to the floor.
She picked them up one by one, feeling the now broken necklace between her fingers.
“It is no longer yours. It belongs to the trash.” the lady said with a smile as she held Lucas hand, commending him for his action.
“Lucas, you just destroyed the only precious object given to me by my parents.” Aria told him as she brought the necklace to her chest.
“They don't care about you anyways.” Lucas blurted out, nonchalantly.
Aria clenched her fists with hot tears streaming out of her eyes in anger. She couldn't bear it any longer. Her husband whom she had seen as a sweet person was no longer sweet or lovable, he was worse, far more than she could ever imagine.
Lucas had not only introduced her to his girlfriend in the worst way, he had also destroyed her most important possession. An action that pierced her heart deeply.
All of a sudden, Aria turned to the lady, the perpetrator of it all.
“You,” she started, pointing a finger at her, “you had the guts to take what does not belong to you. You had the guts to seduce a married man. Are you not ashamed of yourself?!”
The lady chuckled.
“You are a lady like me, why do you feel happy seeing me witness this? Are you that pained at my relationship with him, or do you just lack love?”
The lady clenched her jaws in rising anger. Those words had struck deep into her.
“You should just admit failure and deal with it.” she finally said, with an evil smile.
“You are a slut!” Aria yelled, “A w***e! That is what you are!”
Lucas walked to her at that instant and held the collar of her dress, slamming her to the nearest wall.
“This would be the last time I would tolerate you calling her names.” he told her within gritted teeth, “Isabella is now my lover and you need to deal with it like she said.” he added in a stern tone.
Aria felt her heart thud fast inside the enclosed ribs as she struggled to breath. No matter how hard she tried, she could not let the air out, it was stuck.
When he finally released her, she sulked in a deep breath and held her tightened chest, massaging it gently to allow air flow.
However, the show was yet to end as Lucas turned to Isabella.
“Get me the papers!” he ordered in a thick voice.
Papers? What papers? she asked herself, hoping she did not hear well.
Soon, Isabella arrived with an envelope
“What the hell is that?” Aria demanded as she glanced at it, “How dare you bring–”
Before she could complete her statement, Lucas slams her chest with the envelope.
“I need you to sign those immediately.” he told her.
Aria examined the file, “Divorce papers?” she said in a quivering tone.
“Yes, divorce papers, my dear.” Lucas announced and the lady giggled, “I need you to sign those now and get out of the house!”
Aria's heart began to race this time, the heat was becoming too much for her to bear. How was she going to cope? Where was she going to stay? Was this how her life was bound to turnout for her?
Lots of questions were going through her mind, even her mental state at the moment was already beginning to question her.
“W-why are you doing this to me?” Aria asked with tears in her eyes, “Have I ever done anything wrong to you? Or do you just hate me?”
“Enough of all these questions!” he yelled, “Get these papers signed and get out! I have already had enough of you.” he added, “I don't care about anything else until you sign those because I need you out immediately!”
Aria gulped hard, her saliva getting stuck in her throat as tears filled her eyes. With shaking hands, she took a deep breath to steady herself and collected the pen. Then she bent down to sign the papers.
“She signed it.” Isabella announced with happiness.
Lucas held her waist and smiled.
“Told you it was going to be a piece of cake.”
Aria sniffed back her tears and tried to pretend they were not there. She could not afford to break down again at the moment.
When she was done, Lucas escorted her out of the house and despite her pleas to let her spend the night since it was late already, he refused. Isabella on the other hand did what she was skilled at by helping to throw Aria's baggage out. It was already late, but they did not want to even get a glimpse of her around the house or her condition as they slammed the door across her face.
Aria was left alone in the cold with nothing, but hope. Just as she picked her properties and walked out, it began to drizzle. But she couldn't care about that now, so in the cold and dark weather, she set off with one destination in mind.
