Chapter 24
It was another two hours before the Professor finished wiring in the remote controls for the gate, but time passed much more quickly for Jenna than it had been.
She spent some of the time helping to move the remote devices into the control room, then she managed to convince the Professor that she could help with the connections. She quickly proved herself capable, which she put down to the amount of time she’d spent patching the Vision to keep it going, so the Professor allowed her to keep helping.
Finally the Professor straightened from the console he’d been hunching over for the past twenty minutes. Jenna heard several cracks from his back as he did so.
“Getting too old to be standing in one position for so long,” he muttered.
“Is that everything you need to do?” Jenna
