Elford sat patiently in the police station canteen while he waited for Summers. She needed to shower and change at the station before they headed off to Nottingham. Elford had thought it also a good idea, but he never had a change of clothes in his locker, so he just had something to eat and a coffee instead. Platt had ordered them to go to Nottingham to see if the girl was – or, indeed, had been there. They were to go alone as he had something other to do after the incident at the hospital.
