Chapter Six - Homecoming Dance

            Tonight, is the home coming dance the girls have a lot to do to get ready for tonight. Karissa and Ashleigh call Hope and Emma so they can go pick up their dresses.

Karissa “hey Hope meet us at the car so we can go get our dresses”

Hope “I’m on my way”

Ashleigh “Emma meet us at the car we got to go pick up our dresses”

Emma “coming”

Ashleigh and Karissa grab their phones and purses and head downstairs to leave. They walk out the front door and see Emma and Hope stand at the car.

Karissa pushes the unlock button on her keys and says “alright everyone in”

The girls get into the car and buckle their seat belts. Karissa starts the car and backs out the driveway. They are on their way to the dress boutique called Dolly’s Boutique. They arrived at the dress shop. The girls get out of the car and go into the boutique. They walked up to the counter and the store clerk said, “welcome to dolly’s boutique, how may I help you today?”

Karissa “hello, we are here to pick up our dresses for the dance”

Store clerk “what is the names on the orders”

Karissa “Karissa Whetstone”

Ashleigh “Ashleigh Whetstone”

Emma “Emma Smith”

Hope “Hope Williams”

Store clerk “yes, I found them one moment while I go to the back and grab your dresses”

Ashleigh “thank you”

While the girls waited for the store clerk to return with their dresses, they did some shopping for other items they need for the dance. Each girl found the perfect pair of shoes to go with their dresses. The store clerk comes back to the counter and the girls put their shoes on the counter Ashleigh and Karissa was rang up first. The twins paid for their dresses and shoes and waited for Emma and Hope. After Emma was rang up, she walked over to the twins to wait for Hope. Karissa overheard that Hope did not have enough money to pay for her shoes and dress. So, Karissa grabbed her phone and quickly paid for Hope’s dress online. So, all Hope had to do was pay for her shoes.

Store clerk “I am so sorry the dress was already paid for, that will be $36.87 for the shoes. Again, I am really sorry for the misunderstanding with the dress.”

Hope “ok thank you”

Hope hands the clerk the money. The clerk hands Hope her change. Hope grabs her bags and the girls leave the boutique. Hope will never know who paid for the dress. And it is better that way because she would be terribly upset with Karissa. It is better for Hope just to think her mother paid for the dress. The girls get home and decide to meet at the dance. They all go to their homes to get ready for the dance they only have 5 hours to get ready before their dates arrive. Karissa and Ashleigh normal get ready on their own but today they are doing it together ever since Ashleigh was kidn*pped, she will not go in her room. understandable she was traumatized. Karissa to her shower first and then Ashleigh did now Ashleigh is doing Karissa’s hair. Half up in a diamond clip with medium sized somewhat tight curls. Ashleigh finished up Karissa’s hair with a lot of hair spray. Karissa loves her hair. Ashleigh does Karissa’s make-up. After Ashleigh finishes Karissa’s make-up Ashleigh sits down so Karissa could do her hair and make-up. Karissa does a French fish tale braid in Ashleigh's hair with thin little curls by her ears and two waved curls along her face and to finish Ashleigh's hair off Karissa places a tiara on top of Ashleigh's head. After Karissa finished Ashleigh's make-up, they both walk over to Karissa’s bed to grab their gowns Karissa dress is a satin teal color with a black waist. It goes downright above Karissa’s knees. Ashleigh’s dress is a satin emerald green dress it also stops right above the knee. After they get their dresses on Karissa helps Ashleigh put on her diamond chained belt. They both put on their shoes Karissa is wearing velvet black flats and Ashleigh is wearing lacey black flats. Suddenly we hear our father yell “girls your dates are her” so Ashleigh and Karissa grab their purses and phones and head downstairs. As the girls are walking down the steps there is these 2 super-hot guys standing there. One of them was Luke Karissa’s boyfriend. He is 6’ 2” with blonde hair and deep blue eyes and he has muscles for days. He is wearing a blue polo shirt with beige khaki pants and some nice black dress shoes. The other guy standing there with Luke is Zane. He is 6’ 5” jet shaggy black hair and amber eyes. He also has muscles for days. He was wearing a short black sleeve button up shirt and some black dickies pants with black and white converses. Karissa was shocked that Ashleigh had asked Zane to the dance. Ashleigh is the shy type when it comes to boys. When the girls reached the bottom of the steps the boys looked at the m and their mouths dropped.

Luke said to Karissa “wow babe you look amazing”

Zane “Ashleigh you look beautiful” as he took her by the hand and placed a white lily wrist corsage on her. Luke then put Karissa blue rose corsage on her. Eddie and Nikki took a lot of photos before they would let the girls leave.

Eddie pulled the boys to the side and said “try anything with my daughters well just remember I am the sheriff”

The boys looked a little nervous, but they escorted the girls to their cars. Luke drives a white mustang. Zane drives a dark green pick-up. The girls stopped to see Emma and Hope getting into their date’s cars. Emma is going with Dean and Hope is going with Keith. They all got into their date’s cars and headed to the dance. Ashleigh Emma and Hope all arrived about the same time wondering where Karissa was. Apparently, Karissa and Luke made a pit stop because Luke forgot the ticket at his house. Luke ran into the house to grab the tickets while Karissa sat in the car and waited. Meanwhile back at the school the girls are dancing and having a great time. Suddenly Ashleigh hears Karissa calling for help through their twinlepathy. Ashleigh runs to the bathroom to see what is wrong.

Karissa “there is a f*****g dog trying to eat my face off outside of Luke’s house”

Ashleigh “a dog Karissa, what the hell you know your only supposed to use twinlepathy for severe emergencies”

Karissa “this isn’t a regular dog Ashleigh it has glowing red eyes. OMG Luke is coming what if the dog attacks him and hurts him?”

Ashleigh “c***k the window and yell to him”

Karissa slightly cracks the car window but before she could say anything Luke gets the dogs attention.

Luke called the dog over to him by name “Chance come here boy, leave Karissa alone”

Twinlepathy-

Karissa “it’s Luke’s dog, why does my boyfriend have an evil dog?”

Ashleigh “I don’t f*****g know, find out”

Ashleigh ended the twinlepathy

Luke gets in the car and says “sorry about that his dog acts like that with a lot of women. I don’t know why though”

Karissa “where did you get the dog from?”

Luke “my uncle left Chance to my dad when he died”

Karissa “okay I am sorry about your uncle”

Luke “it’s all good I didn’t really know him my dad and him didn’t get along”

They sat in silence the rest of the way to the dance.

Finally, Karissa and Luke arrived at the dance. Ashleigh walks over to Karissa to make sure she was alright and to find out why Luke has an evil dog. Karissa explained to Ashleigh why he has the dog.

Karissa “his uncle left the dog to his dad”

Ashleigh “ok but why does it have red eyes and wanted to eat you”

Karissa “I don’t know, I don’t think he knows about the eyes thing, but he did say he has noticed the dog doesn’t like some women”

Ashleigh “witch hunting dog?”

Karissa “maybe”

Emma and Hope “come on dance with us”

All the girls go out on the dance floor with their dates and start dancing up a storm. Suddenly everyone in the gym dropped like they were all put to sleep. Everyone except Ashleigh Karissa Hope and Emma. The girls looked at each other and then they realized witch hunters’ powder. Witch hunters use it on people to make humans fall into a deep sleep for 45 minutes so they can find the witches and hunt them down and kill them. The girls hurried and laid down on the floor, so it looked like they were affected by the witch hunters’ powder. 3 men walked into the gym. Karissa could see the men, but the others could not. Karissa recognized one of the men it was Luke’s father. Karissa used the twinlepathy to tell Ashleigh who one of the men were.

Twinlepathy –

Karissa “one of the men is Luke’s dad”

Ashleigh “are you f*****g kidding me?”

Karissa “how do you think I feel? I am dating a future witch hunter”

Ashleigh “we need to talk to great grandma ASAP”

Karissa “your right but how?”

Ashleigh “I have a spell that will counter act the powder”

Karissa “okay, but how to we do this without being found out?”

Ashleigh “we don’t have to be loud just enough that the goddesses will help”

Karissa “okay ready when you are”

But before the girls could make a move or say anything a woman came in the gym. She started throwing magic at the hunters. Luke’s dad ran off, but the woman killed 2 of the men. After they died, they vanished into thin air as if nothing ever happened. The woman looked at Karissa and her eyes glowed red and the woman cast a spell on everyone in the gym waken everyone up. As everyone got up off the floor Karissa tried to find the woman but she had disappeared into thin air.

Ashleigh ran over to Karissa and said “what’s wrong? You look like you seen a ghost”

Karissa “not a ghost I am not quite sure what she was, but she saved us all four of us”

Ashleigh “be grateful she did”

Karissa “I know”

The girls went back to the dance they are about to announce prom king and queen. Vice-Principle Winter’s was announcing prom king and queen.

V.P. Winters “this year home coming king and queen is Keith Long and Hope Williams”

Everyone started to clap Hope and Keith went up on stage. Hope did not even know she was on the ballot. The other girls placed hers and Keith’s name on the ballots Ashleigh and Karissa never go up for home coming queen because it would mean one of them beating the other. Hope and Keith do their home-coming king and queen dance. Emma is taken a lot of photos. Emma is part of the yearbook committee. The dance was a true success other than the four girls all almost being discovered by the witch hunters. They and their dates call it a night and head home when Karissa and Ashleigh got dropped off at home they went inside and went to Karissa’s room to get out of their dresses and wipe their faces. They waited until they knew their parents were asleep. Around midnight the girls quietly went to the basement to go see LuCretia. They stood there and the door never appeared.

Ashleigh “I don’t understand why the door isn’t showing up?”

Karissa “maybe one of us has evil in our hearts”

Ashleigh “no, there has to be another reason. Come on”

The girls went into the attic and sat on the floor looking through LuCretia’s book to find out why the door never showed. They noticed a glowing golden light from behind the curtain they had hanging up on the wall. They closed the attic door and moved the curtain. There is the door to the library.

Ashleigh “I told you we didn’t have evil in us. Great grandma did say she was going to move it closer to us”

Karissa “oh yeah, I forgot”

Ashleigh opens the door. There is no longer and long tunnel from the door to the library. The door just leads straight into the library. The girls entered the library and shut the door behind them just in case their parents came into the attic.

Ashleigh “grandma is you here?”

LuCretia “I am always here”

Ashleigh “we need your help”

LuCretia “okay what is wrong girls?”

Karissa “there was a dog outside my boyfriend’s house with red eyes and black fur. Then there was witch hunters at the school, and they used witch hunters powder to put everyone to sleep and a woman showed up and killed 2 of the witch hunters and right before she used her magic she looked at me and her eyes glowed red. Then before I could ask her anything, she disappeared”

LuCretia “she is your girls familiar”

Ashleigh “our what?”

Karissa ‘familiar – a creature that can change from animal to human to protect their witch or witches until they fully come into their powers”

LuCretia “correct”

Ashleigh “how did you know that?”

Karissa “it is in the book”

Ashleigh “oh”

LuCretia “is there anything else you girls need?”

Ashleigh “yes, can you start training us?”

Karissa “yeah, please grandma please”

LuCretia “sure, anything for you girls let’s get started, shall we?”

Ashleigh “not tonight grandma”

Karissa “its past midnight we have school in the morning”

LuCretia “alright. We can start training on the weekend then”

Karissa and Ashleigh “alright grandma good night we love you”

LuCretia “good night girls I love you too”

The girls left the library and went back to Karissa’s room. they both climbed into Karissa’s bed and went to sleep.
