Chapter Three - Sweet 16

It has been 16 years since the birth of the most recent Whetstone Twins. They are currently planning their Sweet 16th Birthday Party. Everything is so girly I guess you would say. Ashleigh and Karissa are literally the most popular girls in their high school Whetstone Valley High. They are inseparable if they cannot do it together, they normally refuse to do it at all.

Their party was a true success they were not about getting gifts what made their party a bash was them spending time with their friends and everyone have a great time. It was a pool party. Their girlfriends had a sleep over after the pool party was over Ashleigh and Karissa had their own rooms, but the attic was redone to be their hangout room for them and their friends to hang out in or do sleep overs in. of course the girls decorated it themselves. Everything is pink and purple Ashleigh loves pink and Karissa loves purple. The girls were born at exactly 12:43 the next morning. 43 minutes after midnight. They had their party the day before their actual birthday because that day is for family only. When the clock strikes 12:43am on August 30th, 2020 Ashleigh and Karissa was awaken their bodies started pulsing. Ashleigh and Karissa quietly ran to their parents’ room to wake their mother. They knew what was happening but did not understand why it was already happening they were only 16 years old not 18 years old. Nikki took the girls to the Coventry Tower. That is what they call the Coven House now. Nikki grabbed her cell phone and sent a group text message to the entire Whetstone Valley Coventry. Within 10 minutes the entire Coventry had arrived they have to do the ceremony thanking the goddesses for their gifts to Ashleigh and Karissa to complete their coming into powers. In they do not there could be bad consequences. The Coventry quickly prepares the ceremony. While Nikki prepares the girls. They are placed in white gowns and made kneel at the altar where they chant the words. Ashleigh and Karissa chant simultaneously “Thank you goddesses of magic, light and, the moon for this gracious gift of magic bestowed upon us.” The Ashleigh says, “I Ashleigh Nikol Whetstone swear to only use my gifts for helping and doing good for others.” Then Karissa says, “I Karissa Rose Whetstone swear to only use my gifts for help and doing good for others.” The candle of coming into magic flame has changed from white to blue marking the completion of the coming into their gift’s ceremony.

The next morning the girls and their friends had breakfast together it was an incredibly quiet breakfast because their girlfriends are part of the coven. Their friends left so that Ashleigh and Karissa could spend the day with their parents. Their parents Nikkie and Eddie took the girls out to do their school shopping it was their thing to do on their birthday each year because they would start school a week later. While they were out shopping Nikkie noticed the girl’s powers were acting strange. Ashleigh touched a dress and it caught on fire and Karissa tried to wave here hand to put it out and she froze the dress. Nikkie had never knew those kids of gifts even existed. She grabbed the girls by their hands and rushed outside.

Nikkie looks at Ashleigh and Karissa and said

“What on earth are you both doing? Do you two want to get caught?”

Ashleigh and Karissa responded

“No, of course not Mom. We didn’t do it on purpose.”

Nikkie responded okay maybe we should go home and get a handle on these powers of yours.”

Ashleigh and Karissa agreed.

They went home hoping to make sense of their magic. Nikki took the girls into the basement. She walked over to a trunk and opened it inside the trunk was all eight of the founding mothers’ magical books. Hoping there would be something in one of them to help guide Ashleigh and Karissa. Nikki was reading the book of LuCretia Whetstone she was an oracle and she described all the powers that which was known then as The Golden Twins would possess and that they would receive their powers on their 16th birthday at the exact same time of their birth. Which is exactly what happened to Ashleigh and Karissa. Which can only mean they are The Golden Twins.

The girls went through serious training following the books to the letter. They had to get their powers in check before school started. Every day they would get up early and train all day with each high witch of the Coventry. The work was hard, but they completed all their training and just in time too. They had the weekend to prepare for school on Monday.
